Make a Scientific Method *Foldable!
Name____________________________________________ Class __________
*based on Dinah Zike's Foldables®
DIRECTIONS:
1. You will need eight sheets of paper that measure 4 1/4" by 11". It would be fun if you had
several different colors of pages, but all one color or plain white paper would work!
2. Pile the pages on top of each other.
Staple the pages at the top of the short side.
3. The easiest way to do this is to measure down 2" (5 cm) from the top where the staple is
and draw a line. Cut along that line. Your title goes on this small piece of paper left at the top.
4. From this cut line, measure about 1 1/16" (2.7 cm) down and draw another line. You will
cut along this line, too.
5. Continue measuring 2.7 cm down, drawing and cutting lines, until you have seven flaps
for the seven steps. This is in addition to the first flap, which is for the title.
6. Cut out the title and the seven steps
and glue on the front flaps.
7. Inside, glue the definition and the corresponding image
ON THE SAME FLAP AS ITS STEP! (If this Foldable came
unstapled, you would then have each step and the definition
and image on the same piece of paper! Except for the 1st step,
where the image won't fit.)
