Ms Vidic began to gain experience in the field of media already during her study of Communicology at the Faculty of Social Sciences in
Ljubljana. In 2001, she participated in the preparation of a new form of a television show, which she then led for more than four years
at Kanal A. In 2004, she upgraded her media career by working in the public relations agency. She helped implement communication
strategies for different clients. She continued her career in the PR Obrat agency and in February 2006 she co-founded the Propiar
agency, where she currently works as an adviser for public relations. She is also active in different projects for connecting the younger
generations and research laboratories with the industry. She works as a mentor, a mediator and a qualified lecturer.
THE CONFERENCE WILL BE OPENED BY PROF. DR. DANICA PURG, the Director and Dean of the IEDC-Bled School of Management and
President of the Slovenian Society of UN Global Compact, UNGC Slovenia.
Prof. dr. Purg is the President of the International Association for Management Development CEEMAN and European Leadership
Centre, both based at IEDC-Bled School of Management. The UN Global Compact appointed professor Dr. Danica Purg to be a member
in a global working group for the development of principles for responsible business education (PRME - Principles for Responsible
Management Education). In 2013 she was also a president of this body. Area of work of Prof. Dr. Purg as a lecturer and a consultant
consists of leadership, leadership styles and personal development of managers, with particular emphasis on developing leaders
through inspiration, arising from the art. For her achievements in the field of business education, she has received international
recognition for Dean of the Year in 2010, rewarded by the Academy of International Management (AIB). In January 2015 she also
received the award for her life’s work in the field of management, rewarded by The Managers’ Association of Slovenia and in August
2016 she received the award for lifetime achievement in the field of social responsibility, ethics and corporate governance from the
Business School of the University of Cologne.

GABE SHAWN VARGES, M.A., Juris Doctor, Senior partner with HCM International Ltd., Zurich
Mr Gaba Shawn Varges obtained the Bachelor’s Degree in Law from Harvard University. For a number of years he worked in various
law firms in the USA. After a while, he dedicated himself to the field of corporate governance and compliance. As a compliance
officer, he worked in senior positions in several international financial institutions and later joined the banking supervisory authority
in Switzerland, where he currently resides. He was also a member of the Basel Committee for Banking Supervision. For number of
years he worked as a university lecturer for compliance and corporate governance. In addition, he was also the Director of Compliance
Studies at the University of St. Gallen’s Executive School. Today he is a partner in HCM International Ltd. and advises companies on
establishing corporate governance system in the manner, which adds value to their business.
IRENA PRIJOVIĆ, M.A., General Secretary of the Slovenian Directors’ Association
Ms Prijović has been connected with the Slovenian Directors’ Association since its establishment in 1997. She holds a Bachelor’s
Degree in Economics (University of Ljubljana) and a master’s degree from the Faculty of Social Sciences. Her master’s thesis was
entitled The Efficiency of Supervisory Boards. She covers the field of corporate management and managing non-profit and nongovernmental organisations. Moreover, she works in the field of setting different standards of corporate management, codes and
recommendations, research and certification of knowledge for operating in the supervisory boards and management boards. She
is also an author, a lecturer and adviser from the field of corporate management in Slovenia. In 2015, she upgraded her knowledge
of operations of the supervisory boards by attending a course on the efficiency of management boards at the Harvard Business
School. Since May 2010, she has been the member of the Supervisory Board of Petrol d.d. From 2013, she has been the Deputy of the
President of the Supervisory Board and a member of the Auditing Commission.Furthermore, she is active internationally as a member
of the Management Board of the European Confederation of Directors’ Association in Brussels, where she is also member of different
working groups and commissions. She is also a member of the European CG Codes Network. She has been working internationally for
a number of years. She lectures for the IFC Corporate Governance Group which operates within the framework of the World Bank. Since
2012, she is the adviser of the World Bank for projects in South-Eastern Europe and Eurasia.
ANDRIJANA BERGANT, EMBA, CCEP-I, President of the European Institute of Compliance and Ethics (EISEP)
Ms Bergant holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Law and she completed postgraduate studies from management (Executive MBA). At the
beginning of her career in 2004, she worked as a lawyer in the Tax Administration of the Republic of Slovenia. Her work includes
supervision of larger companies at the Special Tax Office. In 2006, she started working in the Legal Department of Ilirika, Stock
Brokerage Company. In 2008, she began working in the field of corporate compliance at Zavarovalnica Triglav, where she implemented
and managed the compliance programme for seven years. In September 2014, she joined NLB d.d., where she manages the field
of prevention and development of the compliance function in the bank, with special emphasis on awareness raising, training and
education, risk management and harmonisation of standards for compliance and integrity on the level of the NLB Group. She holds an
international certificate CCEP-I, and for three years (2012 – 2014) she was also a member of the international exam committee for this
certificate with the Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics from the USA. She is a co-creator of the Declaration on Fair Business
(UNGC Slovenia) and the Slovenian Corporate Integrity Guidelines. For a number of years she has been writing articles and lecturing in
the field of compliance and business ethics. At the end of 2014, she established the EICE (EISEP).
SONJA ŠMUC, BA in Economics, Executive Director of the Managers’ Association of Slovenia
Ms Šmuc is an active advocate of development of the Slovenian management and leadership, thus raising the competitiveness
of the Slovenian economy. She also focuses on the issue of female management. She is a member of several bodies, such as the
Accreditation Committee of The Bank Assets Management Company (BAMC), Expert Council for Gender Equality of the Republic of
Slovenia, the Advisory Committee on Equal Opportunities for Men and Women in the European Commission, the Management Board of
Samit100 (business leaders of South-Eastern Europe) and selection commissions such as the Manager of the Year, Gazele, Zlata nit,
Female Manager-Friendly Company, Marketing Manager, Human Resources Manager, etc. She received an award from the Chamber of
Commerce and Industry of Slovenia, branch unit Ljubljana, for the innovation Entrepreneurs in the Company. She is the co-author of the
book entitled Izvozno tveganje pod nadzorom (in English: Export Risk Under Control). She is also the author of more than 700 articles
on economy. She studied at the Faculty of Economics in Ljubljana and continued her studies at the Stanford University in California,
the Viennese Wirtschaftsuniversität and at the IEDC – Bled School of Management.
MOJCA MARKIZETI, The Fair Meter Project Manager
Ms Markizeti graduated at the Faculty of Economics in Maribor and continued postgraduate studies from the field of social
management at the Faculty for Social Work. For six years she was employed with the Human Rights Ombudsman of the Republic of
Slovenia. She was in charge of public relations and managed special projects connected with social equality, the status of children
and anti-discrimination policy. She was employed at the IEDC - Bled School of Management between 2008 and 2015 as the secretary
of the faculty. She also managed the office for postgraduate students and different projects, including research projects. In addition,
she managed the UNGC Slovenia. Mojca has been trained as the “Anti-discrimination Trainer” and she organises seminars covering the
issue of discrimination. In her personal life, Mojca is guided by curiosity and her sense of justice. She is an activist and a passionate
advocate of sustainable development and welfare for all people. In May 2016, she gave a talk at the TEDxFDV on the importance of
activism and responsible citizenship. At the end of 2015, she began working as the Fair Meter Project Manager in Iskraemeco d.d.
ROK PRAPROTNIK, Director of the Compliance and Integrity Centre, NLB d.d.
Mr Praprotnik is the Director of Compliance and Integrity in NLB d.d., an organisational unit of Slovenia’s largest bank, competent for
executing internal investigations, ensuring general regulatory compliance and executing preventive development tasks in the field
of corporate ethics and integrity. Before taking over his present tasks in the bank, he worked as the Deputy of the President of the
Commission for the Prevention of Corruption. He was responsible for the field of supervision of financial position of public officials,
supervision of the field of lobbying and strategic prevention activities of the Commission as an independent and autonomous state
body. In the past, he also worked as a journalist for newspapers Delo and Dnevnik. In particular, he covered the field of investigative
journalism and wrote about intelligence services, the army and state legal institutions.
KAMIL WYSZKOWSKI, Director UN Global Compact Poland
Mr Wyszkowski holds a Bachelor’s Degree in International Law. He has worked with United Nations since 2002. In 2004, he became the
national representative of the initiative United Nations Global Compact Poland. He is in charge of coordinating cooperation in the field
of business, towns, universities and other institutions of higher education and non-governmental organisations. He has experience in
international cooperation and programme development in Europe and Asia, especially in Iraq, Georgia, Romania and Thailand. Between
2009 in 2014, he worked as a Director of the United Nations Development Program Office Poland. He has also worked as a lecturer
at the Central European University in Bucharest, the Columbia University in New York, the Lviv University, the Koźminski University
(Akademia Leona Koźmińskiego), the Ignacy Paderewski Institute of Diplomacy within the framework of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,
at the Warsaw School of Economics and the Warsaw University. Between 2009 and 2012, he was a member of the Strategic Advisory
Board of the Polish Prime Minister. He is an expert for policies of the United Nations and the European Union, especially in the field of
business and administrative cooperation, as well as incentives of the private sector as regards the implementation of standards and
developmental objectives of the United Nations. Currently, he is coordinating the programme of the UNGC Poland and is in charge of
the management and development of a local initiative. On international level, he is active in strengthening and facilitating cooperation
between delegations of the United Nations in Europe, the Commonwealth of Independent States, Africa and the Middle East. He is also
a business commentator at the Polish television channel TVN24 (TVN Biznes I Świat).
ANDREA BONIME-BLANC, Phd, GEC Risk Advisory LLC, New York
Andrea Bonime-Blanc, Phd, is the founder of GEC Risk Advisory LLC from New York (https://gecrisk.com/). She is an internationally
recognized expert and one of the most fruitful authors in the field of compliance and business ethics, risk management, corruption,
reputation risk and lately also of the increasing danger of cyber-attacks. Moreover, she lectures at conferences in different parts of
the world. She is fluent in German and Spanish. She is also the author of the book entitled The Reputational Risk Handbook and many
articles and statements, which are frequently quoted by the most well-known media, such as The Wall Street Journal and the BBC. For
more than two decades, she has worked at senior positions in four global corporations from energy, infrastructure, media, technology
and defence industries. She has also managed the risk function, internal auditing, compliance and ethics, in-house legal etc. She
has more than two decades of experience in the field of corporate governance in different functions in both profit and non-profit
organisations. Andrea is also the honourable member of the Expert Council of the EISEP.
