The basic unit of system load is the Resource Unit (RU). Each 3VR VIP appliance model has a different maximum RU capacity: RUs can be used to run VIP Analytics and IP cameras, subject to the maximum RU and
VIP Analytic/IP camera capacities in this table.

ultiple streams from a camera should be treated as separate cameras, and require RUs that correspond with
M
their resolution. For example, 3 VGA virtual regions from the same 2MP camera are considered 3 separate IP
cameras. Cameras that contain multiple physical cameras (the Arecont™ 8180 or 8360, for example) should be
treated as multiple cameras.

ubject to maximum limit of 8Mbits/sec for the S-Series, 20 Mbits/sec for the P-Series, and 40 Mbits/sec for
S
the X-Series 100. Dual-stream cameras (most cameras are) can supply both MJPEG for motion detection and
analysis as well as a MPEG4 or H.264
stream for storage. This is preferred.
