NAMIBIA
Namibia got its name after independence in 1990
and is derived from the Namib Desert.
Namibia’s flag is divided by a red band edged with a
white band on either side on the lower side of the red is
green and the upper side is blue with a yellow
12 ray sun
The colors and symbols all have a meaning:
Blue – represents the Namibian sky and the Atlantic
Ocean, the country’s precious water resources and rain
Red – represents the heroism of the people and their
determination to build a future of equal opportunity for all
White – represents peace, unity, tranquility & harmony
Green- represents vegetation & agricultural resources
Yellow sun represents power and existence
