Congratulations, Molly Arthur!
What is the largest country that the equator passes through?
In which country would you find the highest waterfall?
What is the capital of Portugal?
Don’t know the answer? Ask Molly Author. Molly not only won the High Peaks Geography
Bee, but has now qualified for the Colorado State Geo Bee, to be held on Friday, March 31.
Way to go, Molly!!

Community Dinner at Next Door - This Monday, March 6th
Come one, come all! Bring your family, friends, and neighbors for a wonderful meal at
Next Door this Monday, March 6, from 5:00 - 9:00. Next Door will graciously donate 50%
of sales to the High Peaks PTO. Please tell your wait person that you are with High Peaks.
Thank you in advance for continuing to support our school.

PLEASE READ - NOTE FROM NEXT DOOR: Unfortunately, we have had issues with groups soliciting guests
inside and outside the restaurant. We cannot allow this as it makes guests uncomfortable. 504U events are not
an opportunity to market or recruit for your organization but rather an opportunity to bring your existing
community together. If you solicit guests at Next Door (inside or outside the restaurant) we will have to cancel
your event and not donate 50% from participating tables. I hope you understand.
Be a High Peaks Reporter!
The Yearbook staff is looking for true stories that highlight the 16-17 school year at High
Peaks! We still need articles written by students for our Headline News; the deadline is
March 24. We need a 5th
grade student who would like to write about their experience at
High Peaks, or K-5 students who would like to write about a Core Knowledge Event
(1st-Egyptians, 2nd-Western Expansion/Ellis Island, 3rd-Roman Times, 4th-Medieval
Times, 5th-Western), field trip, Battle of the Books, Spelling Bee, Fun Run, etc. The sky’s
the limit! Please email all articles to d
[email protected], or drop off hard copies in
the office.
Thank you,
The Yearbook Staff

Kindergarten Enrichment Registration
The window is now open! Kindergarten Enrichment is a BVSD, tuition-based, child care
program that compliments the Kindergarten program and provides a full school day
experience for your child. Registration is open until March 13th. At that time we will run a
lottery for available seats at schools where it is needed. After March 13th, we will
continue to accept registrations for the remaining available seats and wait lists. Tuition
assistance is available through CCAP. For more information or to register, please visit our
website bvsd.org/ke or call 720.561.5970.

State Testing is right around the corner….
PARCC/CMAS Testing: March 20th-April 21th
Parents, our PARCC and CMAS testing will take place in the months of March and April.
These important tests help us plan and differentiate for the specific needs of students. If
you have questions, please feel free to call or email Jeannie Tynecki at
[email protected].
Please mark your calendars for these important dates. Please do not schedule
appointments or vacations during these testing windows; thank you in advance. We will
have more detailed information in the near future.
Parents,
We are aware that the Passover holiday falls within our testing window. We did our best
to work around the dates, but if this should create a conflict for your family, we are
happy to accommodate and provide a different testing time for your child. Thank you for
your support during the busy time of year.
Sincerely,
Jeannie

High Peaks Sock Hop - Mark Your Calendars
Please SAVE THE DATE for the annual Sock Hop! This year we're going OUT OF THIS
WORLD on Friday, April 7th from 5:30pm - 8:00pm at High Peaks Elementary. There
will be no silent auction this year, so parents will have more time to dance! This remains
a family event (no drop offs), and we need your help to make it a success. Please see the
sign up sheet for volunteer opportunities:
http://www.signupgenius.com/go/409084eacac2fa46-high. Any questions or
comments may be directed to April Gatesman at [email protected].
Save our Badges
The school Visitor Badge supply is quickly dwindling. Please check your pockets,
drawers, cars, nooks, and crannies for the BCSIS/High Peaks red visitor badges and
promptly return them to the school office. These badges are essential for our security
procedures and costly to replace. Thank you for your cooperation.
