Museum Würth, Künzelsau
During all his life, the Vienna representative of Fantastic Realism
Rudolf Hausner (1914–1995) searched the depths of existence
through what he called his “Adam consciousness“. He was a good
friend of the entrepreneur and art collector Reinhold Würth. On
the occasion of the 100th birthday of the artist last December,
Museum Würth dedicated the retrospective exhibition “RUDOLF
HAUSNER. I am ID. Würth Collection and Loans“ to him in
Künzelsau.

THE BUSINESS YEAR 2014
THE CORPORATE GROUP
According to the preliminary consolidated financial statement,
the Würth Group reported a sales volume of EUR 10.12 billion in
2014 (previous year: EUR 9.75 billion). In local currencies, growth
came to 4.8 percent. Currency fluctuations cost the Group one percentage point of growth. All regions were in the position to improve
their sales. Würth is picking up speed again also in Southern Europe.
The companies outside of Europe are also developing positively,
especially the companies in North America. They reported growth of
8.6 percent. In Germany, Würth grew by 4.1 percent.
Building-up the Würth Group is the life‘s work of the entrepreneur Prof. Dr. h. c. mult. Reinhold Würth. The Chairman of the
Supervisory Board of the Würth Group‘s Family Trusts turned the
hardware wholesale business, which was founded by his father in
1945, from a two-man business into today‘s Würth Group. Today,
the world market leader in the trade with assembly and fastening
materials is represented by more than 400 companies in over
80 countries. In 2015, the largest individual company in the Würth
Group – Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG – will celebrate its 70th
anniversary and Reinhold Würth his 80th birthday.
According to preliminary calculations, the operating result 2014
will come to EUR 500 million (previous year: EUR 445 million). This
corresponds to an increase of 12.4 percent. With an increase in
equity capital of about EUR 300 million to a total of EUR 3.68 billion,
the Würth Group reports an equity ratio of over 45 percent in the
business year 2014, which constitutes a robust financial basis.
In 2014, the number of employees increased from 63,571 to
66,044. This increase was reported mostly in the areas related
to sales.

The global trade with fastening and assembly materials
is the core business of the Würth Group. Würth‘s classic product
range, which is distributed through an international network of
Würth Line companies, comprises more than 100,000 products for
craft and industry: from screws, screw accessories and anchors,
to tools, chemical-technical products and personal protective
equipment. The Allied Companies of the Würth Group are trading
or production companies operating mostly in similar or diversified
business fields. They sell products for markets related to the Group‘s
traditional core business such as products for DIY stores, material for
electrical installations, electronic components (e.g. circuit boards)
and financial services.
E-business as growth field in the Würth Group
The field of e-business is gaining in importance for the overall
strategy of the Würth Group. It is our aim to evolve from a traditional
direct-selling business into a multi-channel company. Besides selling
over the company‘s sales force and branch offices, e-business is
taking on greater significance for the company. This is also one of the
reasons why we restructured the IT activities in the Würth Group and
summarized them in a new subsidiary named Würth IT GmbH. The
service portfolio of the new company includes the data center, enterprise resource planning systems, e-business strategies, cloud services
and IT security. The infrastructure is further developed through the
construction of an IT technology center in Waldzimmern, which will
help Würth IT stabilize their position as IT service provider.
