Hogg Creek Goal Safety Policy Statement It is the intention of the Board of Directors of the Hogg Creek Soccer League that goal safety be a priority. Therefore this policy and these guidelines regarding the installation, use and storage of soccer goals by its members have been adapted. The Board urges all of its players, coaches and referees to review their policies, procedures and to implement and enforce a goal post safety program. This procedure will be posted on the Hogg Creek web site and will be made available to all coaches and referees prior to each season. Soccer Goal Injuries and Deaths According to the U. S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), most soccer goal post related deaths and injuries involved either unsecured or homemade goals. Injuries frequently occurred during horseplay such as climbing on the goal or attempting to do chin-ups, thereby tipping the goal over. All goals whether homemade or manufactured, should be properly secured to the ground to avoid injuries or death associated with tip-over.
