HOUSEKEEPING
Welcome to Preschool!
If your child is prone to accidents,
We feel so blessed that you have chosen us to spend
the next year with your child helping him/her grow.
Please read this newsletter in its entirety because it is
filled with lots of information as we begin the year. I
apologize in advance for the length, but there is a lot
of information to start out the year.
whether bathroom or spills, please
send in an extra outfit in a bag
labeled with your child's name. We
will keep it in the closet here at
preschool. Also, please write your
child's name on their backpack
and jacket. Lots of items look the
September is going to be a fun month! Besides
reviewing of rules and expectations, we will be learning
many new things. We will learn about all the different
kinds of weather and all four seasons. We will be talking
about clouds and how rain is formed. We will even be
doing an experiment to help learn this process.
same and we would hate to get
them confused. Also, remember to
have your child wear his or her
nametag to school the first couple
weeks.
STAR STUDENT

We are looking forward to getting the fun started this
month with all of our exciting activities! If you ever have
any questions feel free to contact me at
[email protected]. You can always call the
preschool to schedule an appointment as well. Please
know you are welcome anytime in the classroom.
star student of the week! This week
will spotlight your child. They will get
to pick jobs first each day, bring in a
poster to share about themselves
and get to take the class pet ( No
worries, it’s stuffed!) home for the
weekend!
CLASSROOM JOBS
The children will be taking turns
with classroom jobs each day.
The kids get very excited to
choose the job they would like
for the day. It helps them to
feel important and included as
well as learn responsibility and
independence. Ask your child
about the jobs!
Thank You,
Mrs. Mays & Ms. Williams
SHOW AND TELL
Each month we will have Show and Tell! It is a great way to
give each child the spotlight, and a chance to speak in front
of their peers. They are always excited to tell about what they
brought! Please be sure that your child's item can fit in his/her
backpack each month. This month's show and tell will be on
September 14, and should be your child’s favorite item.
(Please, nothing fragile, precious, or breakable! We will
respect your things but are realistic that we are working with
preschoolers. J ) Help your child choose something he or she
will be excited to talk about.
We will be spending the month of September getting to know each other and learning the
classroom rules and schedule. We hope to make our classroom a great learning environment
for everyone. We will be reviewing the classroom rules, consequences and rewards repeatedly
over the next several weeks. Our goal is to help each child be successful. We have
implemented several ways to help each child succeed.
Good
Behavior
BEHAVIOR CHART
GUMBALL MACHINE
(reward system)
We have a stop light chart (red,
yellow, green) for behavior. You
will only receive a note if your
Warning
child’s card was moved to
yellow or red.. If you do not get a
note, your child received a green
for the day. I will only notify you if
your child did NOT get a green.
We are hoping for a lot of greens!
HardDay
We have a class reward system.
Each day that our entire class
stays on green we will put one
gumball on our class gumball
machine. When the machine is
full we will get a class reward
that they will choose! I will send a
note home letting you know
what we earned and when it will
take place. This has always been
very motivating for the students!
OTHER WAYS TO EARN A PRIZE
There are other ways your child can
earn prizes from the prize box. Each
month there will be a Bible verse to
memorize. If your child memorizes
the Bible verse they can get a prize.
Also, we will be sending a “
Blooming for Good Books” paper
home with your child. You can list
all the books you read to your child.
Once it is filled out, your child can
get a prize from the prize box. It is
very reinforcing to receive a prize,
but doubly great because they are
learning great things!
