CLASSROOM JOBS The children will be taking turns with classroom jobs each day. The kids get very excited to choose the job they would like for the day. It helps them to feel important and included as well as learn responsibility and independence. Ask your child about the jobs! Thank You, Mrs. Mays & Ms. Williams SHOW AND TELL Each month we will have Show and Tell! It is a great way to give each child the spotlight, and a chance to speak in front of their peers. They are always excited to tell about what they brought! Please be sure that your child's item can fit in his/her backpack each month. This month's show and tell will be on September 14, and should be your child’s favorite item. (Please, nothing fragile, precious, or breakable! We will respect your things but are realistic that we are working with preschoolers. J ) Help your child choose something he or she will be excited to talk about. We will be spending the month of September getting to know each other and learning the classroom rules and schedule. We hope to make our classroom a great learning environment for everyone. We will be reviewing the classroom rules, consequences and rewards repeatedly over the next several weeks. Our goal is to help each child be successful. We have implemented several ways to help each child succeed. Good Behavior BEHAVIOR CHART GUMBALL MACHINE (reward system) We have a stop light chart (red, yellow, green) for behavior. You will only receive a note if your Warning child’s card was moved to yellow or red.. If you do not get a note, your child received a green for the day. I will only notify you if your child did NOT get a green. We are hoping for a lot of greens! HardDay We have a class reward system. Each day that our entire class stays on green we will put one gumball on our class gumball machine. When the machine is full we will get a class reward that they will choose! I will send a note home letting you know what we earned and when it will take place. This has always been very motivating for the students! OTHER WAYS TO EARN A PRIZE There are other ways your child can earn prizes from the prize box. Each month there will be a Bible verse to memorize. If your child memorizes the Bible verse they can get a prize. Also, we will be sending a “ Blooming for Good Books” paper home with your child. You can list all the books you read to your child. Once it is filled out, your child can get a prize from the prize box. It is very reinforcing to receive a prize, but doubly great because they are learning great things!
