How to Find a Legal Journal Article Are you looking for a specific journal article, or any journal articles on a particular subject? A particular article Articles on a subject From the UWE intranet homepage ( http://www.uwe.ac.uk/ ), 1) Select Library Services Website 2) Click on Your subject UK/EU Law 3) Select Law from the list of subjects 4) Click on the link Databases for law Are you looking for UK/EU Law, or for comparative/international law? Scroll down the list of databases and select Westlaw UK. Comparative / International Law Scroll down the list of databases and select Index to Legal Periodicals and Books. Log in using your Network Username and Password. Log in using your Network Username and Password. Select the Journals tab from along the top of the Westlaw UK homepage. Yes Make a note of the details of the article; the journal in which it is published, the year, volume, issue & page numbers. Click on the link and read, print or save a copy of the article. Turn over the page No Is a printed copy available, covering the year/issue you need? Yes go to shelves No Click on the button marked Linked Full Text below the article title. Yes Does this find the full text article online / find the journal online? No Check for print holdings to search for a printed copy. Turn over the page Use Library Search from the Library homepage to look for the journal not the article Check for a particular article, continued fom previous page Check for print holdings, continued from previous page. Enter the name of the Journal (not the title of the article) into the field marked from this publication. From the drop-down menu in the field Show content type, select Journal/eJournal (not Journal Article) Is the journal listed in the results presented? Yes. It does not have [Electronic Journal] in the title. Yes. It does have [Electronic Journal] in the title. Click on the title of this journal. Click on the title of this journal. Access the journal (you may need to login using your network username and password. For help, see http://www1.uwe.ac.uk/library/help/ If the article you wish to see was published in an issue listed as available, then you will need to check the printed edition of the journal. These can be found on the shelves in the Library either on Level 5 (Law Journals) or Level 3 (all other journals). However, we may be able to get this for you via another route.
