the Lautten Compagney Berlin for a baroque opera master class.
Still fresh in our memories is the vibrancy and bubbling charm of her
teaching style. Vivica Genaux has sung at the Vienna State Opera
as well as at the MET and is just as at home singing bel canto as she
is singing baroque. Whether Vivaldi, Hasse, Händel or Purcell, Vivica
Genaux has now more than 60 characters to offer in her repertoire
as a highly sought-after interpreter at both solo evenings as well as
for ensembles on the world?s most famous stages. A constantly
growing number of CD recordings are documentation of her
accomplishments.
The Lautten Compagney Berlin won their first ECHO Klassik in
2010 as the ?Best Ensemble - early music? for the CD Timeless with
compositions from Merula and Glass. For now 30 years under the
artistic direction of Wolfgang Katschner their concerts have
fascinated their listeners. The Lautten Compagney is ranked among
the most renowned German baroque ensembles and performs in
diverse chamber music line-ups through to baroque opera orchestra.
Their repertoire encompasses a wide spectrum of works from the
16th to 18th centuries and continues to surprise with original
program planning and new discoveries of unknown compositions.
The ensemble is a regular guest at significant national and
international concert stages and festivals.
