its quinceañera (15th birthday) this year.
Throughout its 15-year history, HESTEC
(Hispanic Engineering, Science and Technology) Week has impacted more than a

Named Sue for the very first time at
The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.
Sue, who once roamed North America about
67 million years ago, returns to the Valley for a
more than three-month stay at the UTRGV Edinburg Campus
Visitors Center. The Sue exhibit will also be part of
the university’s Hispanic Engineering, Science and Technology
(HESTEC) Week, Oct. 2-8, 2016.

No dinosaur in the world compares to Sue – the most famous and largest
T. rex of all, who stands at a heart stopping 42 feet (12.8 m) long and 12
feet (3.66 m) tall at the hips. A spectacular full-sized skeleton cast of Sue,
the most complete and best-preserved Tyrannosaurus rex ever discovered,
is the centerpiece of this exciting bilingual traveling exhibition that includes a variety of multimedia and interactive elements that make Sue’s
life come alive.

BIG FACTS ABOUT SUE
Sue had a total of 58 razor-sharp
teeth that were continually shed
and re-grown during her lifetime.
A T. rex skeleton is made up of more than
250 bones. Sue was found with most of
those bones. She’s missing only a foot,
one arm, and a few ribs and vertebrae.
