Sites
• Homesites.Whentwoschoolsflipfortwoseparatesitesotherthantheir
homefieldorcourt,thesitesareconsideredhomesitesunlessbothsites
arenearmid-point.
• Neutralsites.Asitemid-pointornearmid-point,orasiteagreedonby
bothschoolsasneutral,isaneutralsite.Unless,mutuallyagreeable,a
sitecannotbeneutralifitsdistancefromeitherschoolismorethantwothirdsthetotaldistancebetweenthetwoschools.
• Mid-pointsites.Unlessmutuallyagreedotherwise,postdistrictcontests
shallbeatmid-pointsiteforschoolslocatedmorethan100milesapart.
Line-Ups
Theadvancingteamscoachmustgivehisorhercompleteline-uppriortothestart
oftheirnextroundmatch.Also,coachesareresponsibleforexchangingthe
previousmatchroster/line-up.
Lineupchangesandmovementwithintheplayersladderisoutlinedinthis
sectionandeachcoachmayusetheoptionsonceinacalendarweekinthe
playoffsasstatedinthesection.(Tentative)
• LineupChanges:Thecoachmaychangeinthelineuptoreflectproper
ladderpositionpriortothestartofthetournament,basedonthe
followingregulations.
• SinglesMovementonLadder:Afterthepreviousqualifyingtournament,
thecoachmaymoveeachplayernomorethanonepositionupordownin
thesingleslineup
• DoublesMovementonLadder:Afterthepreviousqualifying
tournament,thecoachmaymoveeachplayernomorethanoneposition
upordowninthedoubleslineup.Thecoachmaychangeaplayerfrom
onedoublespartnertoanotherpartner,butnoplayermaymovemore
thanonepositioninthedoubleslineup.

Ifastudenthasbeenoutoftheline-upforagradingperiodforacademicpurposes
andreturns,theline-upshouldbere-rankedwiththe“new”playerinhis/her
appropriateposition.
Undernocircumstancesshallthecoachchangehis/herline-upduringa
tournament.Thepenaltyfordoingsowillbetoforfeittheindividualmatches
involved,withthescoresbecoming6-0,6-0ineachmatch.Coachesshouldbe
awarethatasubstitutionandaline-upchangearenotthesame.
Substitutions
Acoachmaymakesubstitutionsbetweenteammatchesand/orduringateam
matchbeforetheindividualmatchbegins.Inallinstances,thecoachmustusethe
followingprocedure.
• Singles:Thecoachremovesaplayerfromthelineup.Allplayerslowerin
thelineupmoveupthefillthevacantspotinthelineupandthealternate
becomesthe#6player.
• Doubles:Ifthecoachremovesonmemberofadoublesteamfromthe
line-up,he/sheplacesthealternateinthevacatedspot,andtheteam
remainsinthesameposition.Ifthecoachremovesbothmembersofa
doublesteam,thenthelowerteamswillmoveuptofillthevacant
position,andthealternatepairbecomesthe#3team.
UILPlayoffReporting–TeamsAdvancing
Coachesarerequiredtosubmitplayoffresultsimmediatelyfollowingtheircontest.
Thewinningschoolshouldsubmitplayoffgameresultsandnextroundinformation
viaMaxPrepsthroughtheassignedcoach/adminaccount.Thescorereportedbya
coachonateam’spagewillautomaticallyfillinthebracket.
ThecompletenessofthedatapresentedontheUILTexasScoreboardwillbe
dependentupontheparticipationofschoolsandcoaches.Formoreinformation,

Regionalquarterfinalwinnersshallcontacttheregionaltournamentdirectorof
qualifyingfortheregionaltournament.Thequalifiersmustsendtheirprevious

Everyeffortmustbebybothteamstodeterminethewinnerbeforethecertification
deadline.Thisincludesobtainingneutralsitesandsecuringanyavailablesite.This
couldmeangivingupahomefieldadvantageifanothersiteisplayable.
Ifweatherconditionsmakeitimpossibletodetermineawinnerbeforecertification,
UILmustbecontactedforanextension.Thenextroundopponent(s)mustalsobe
contactedtoinformthemthatthedeadlinewillbeextended.
Officials
ItisrecommendedbutnotrequiredthatUnitedStateTennisAssociation(USTA)
officialsbeuseupuntiltheregionaltournament.
Balls
Theparticipatingschoolsareresponsibleforsupplyingthetennisballs.
ForfeitsandDefaults
If,afteranindividualmatchbegins,aforfeitoccursduetoillness,injuryorpenalty
formisconduct,thegamesand/orsetswonbytheforfeitingteamshallstandand
count.
Inallothermatchesifaninjuryorillnessoccursbeforetheindividualmatchbegins,
taketheplayeroutoftheline-upandmoveeveryoneelseupintheline-up.The
substitutethenbecomes#6.
