Call for Visual Artists!
SMALL//works ART SHOW
a fundraiser for the Kamloops Arts Council

Sell your artwork at the busy holiday season,
and help the Kamloops Arts Council raise needed funds for community arts programs!
Visual artists (2D & 3D) are invited to be a part of the KAC’s first ever SMALL//works Show. This exhibition is
comprised of small, one-of-a-kind, original artworks by area artists.
Up to 15 small pieces per artist may be entered:
• 12 pieces of up to 120 square inches each (i.e. 10”x12”), each priced at or below $100
• 2 pieces of up to 200 square inches each (i.e. 10”x20”), each priced at or below $200
• 1 piece of up to 320 square inches (i.e. 16”x20”), each priced at or below $300.
(Note: size does not include matte and frame when applicable but please keep in mind this is a SMALL art show)
The show opens at the Old Courthouse on November 29th and continues until December 23rd. SMALL//works will fill
the gallery and hallway of the Old Courthouse with a ton of small affordable, original artworks during the busy preChristmas season. The event will be heavily promoted, with the goal of maximum sales.
Sales will be split between the artists and the Kamloops Arts Council (50% to artist and 50% to KAC). There is
no cost to apply or enter. Participating artists must be current members of the KAC.
Artwork must be new, original work handmade that has not previously been displayed the Old Courthouse.
SMALL//works will be gently juried / curated. Not all works may be accepted.
HOW TO ENTER:
STAGE ONE: Let us know you’re interested in participating by noon on Saturday, Sept. 30!
1) Fill out the online application form at www.eventbrite.ca.
2) Email 3 sample images of your work to [email protected]. These images do NOT have to be the works
you intend to submit for the actual exhibition -- we just want to see your work. Images may also be used for
promotional & informational materials.
Apply early! We have limited space, so we may cut off submissions when the maximum number of pieces has been
reached.
STAGE TWO: Acceptance and artwork submission
If accepted, you will be notified by email by Friday, Oct 13 and asked to email the following to [email protected]
by Tuesday, Oct. 31:
• Title, medium and price of each piece you are entering
• A short artist statement about your work (200 words max)
• A short bio (100 words max)
Not all pieces submitted will be selected. Overall the gallery will select a total of 10 pieces of up to 320 square inches,
20 pieces of up to 200 square inches, and as many pieces under 120 square inches (priced at under $100) that can be
displayed. All submissions will be juried by the SMALL//works committee.
STAGE THREE: Art Drop Off - Saturday, Nov. 25 (1:00 - 4:00) & Monday, Nov. 27 (10:00 – 5:00) at
the Old Courthouse.
