The trip on the Mayflower from England to America was
terrific. We left on July 22, 1620 and started to pack food and all the
things we needed to survive in the beginning of July. Pilgrims in Leiden
hired a ship named the Speedwell to take others from Delfshavens, the
Netherlands, to Southampton to take them to England.
On August 5, in about 300 miles in the sea the Speedwell
began to leak and just left it behind. We ( the Mayflower) decided to just
leave the Speedwell behind and go to America by ourselfs. Pilgrims
from the Speedwell decided to transferrer over to the Mayflower. It was
quite crowded.
What colony did you settle in? Why did you choose that place to live?

I chose to travel to North Carolina because we had to practice
our religion! Also, founders of our community were only out to make
money and some people used Africans as slaves. We are entirely
agricultural so we mainly had plantation.Wouldn’t you want to go to
America?

I decided to build a house big and warm during the winter since it is
quite cold. Also, it gives me more room to work in the kitchen, but has more
stuff to clean up.
What clothes did you wear? Find some pictures. Why were these clothes
best suited for the climate and area you lived in? Need at least 2 sentences.
The clothes I wear in America have many layers. The first layer is a
white silky dress then a solid color skirt and shirt. After that, there is a hood
with a matching red cloak.

The kind of food I ate was fish, deer, rabbits and turkeys. We
caught whales and fish and sold the whale blubber and fish. The men
would hunt for the wild animals and catch fish and the girls will make
butter and cook the animals.
Education

I don’t go to school. I am taught by my mother which teaches me
how to keep house. I cook and clean the house so I know how to keep my
house tidy. When I’m a teenager, I’ll go to Europe or a college and learn other
stuff.
Why did you decide to leave England and settle in America? Convince your
friends to do the same. (Need at least 5 sentences with 2 reasons)
I have left England to travel on the Mayflower to go to America. I didn’t
like that they kept helpless Africans as slaves to get US food and do OUR
chores! Also, we had mostly plantation which I could not stand. You should come
to America with me and the others.
