“I would not be standing here today accepting the President’s “gavel” if it wasn’t for Diane Haehnle.
Thank you Diane that you took the time to share this wonderful club with me and mentor me during my first
year as a Lioness.
These past 2 years as VP have gone very well for me and that is because of another amazing woman also
named Diane. Diane Coffey, I am not sure how ready I am, however I know you have been a wonderful
example and will do my very best.
As we enter into our 35th year, I look forward to working together to make this a year full of positive changes.
Let’s all remember where we got our start in 1982? If the Lions had not sponsored us we wouldn’t exist.”
THIS COULD BE A “ FUN” FUND RAISING ACTIVITY IN WHICH WE WOULD ALL LOVE TO
PARTICIPATE!!!
A few days ago friends in Mesa AZ observed that their garbage can was really getting nasty. Stuff gets
spilled/stuck in there and temperatures are rising. These cans are a standard size and configuration that just
fit the arms of the garbage truck. They weren't looking forward to scrubbing it out. Then on the Leisure World
Post this AM was a message from 2 residents saying that they would power scrub & sanitize them for $10 if
they cleaned them in place using the owner’s water and electricity. The cost would be $15 if they took them to
their place. They called them right away and one came to their home soon. She hosed it down, scrubbed
with a brush, went over it several times inside and out, sanitized it and finished in a little more than 1/2 hour.
Of course they tipped her.
This is good old American enterprise, creativity and self-sufficiency! “Sure was worth it for us!” they said.
Are you ready to sign up? Maybe you’ve heard the little story about Adam talking to God in the Garden. God said to Adam “I want you to go over and give Eve a little squeeze.” And Adam replied, “Lord, what’s a squeeze?” So God explained it to him. When Adam came back God said to him, “Now I want you to give Eve a kiss.” Lord, what’s a kiss?” asked Adam. So God explained that to him. Finally God said to Adam, “Now I want you to go over to Eve and increase and multiply.” So Adam went over to Eve and in a few minutes he returned to God and asked, “Lord, what’s a headache?”
