Book Week Monday 27th February 2017
Dear Parents and Carers,
Next week is Book Week and we have some very exciting activities planned! Our theme this year
is ‘The Jungle Book’ by Rudyard Kipling.
On Monday the children will be visited by author Luke Temple, there will be the chance to
purchase one of his books.
On Friday children can dress up as their favourite book characters, this year there won’t be a
prize, as it’s just for fun!
The book fair is open on Friday 24th, Monday 27th, Tuesday 28th and Thursday 2nd after school in
the KS2 hall until 3:35 pm. This year the book fair has been provided by Travelling Books, who
offer an exciting selection for you to buy.
Our competition of the week, following our theme of ‘The Jungle Book’, is to write a short story
set in a jungle maximum of 50 words; entries need to be returned to class teachers by Thursday
2nd March and winners will be announced in assembly on Friday, there will be a prize to the
winner in each team. Good Luck! We will also be holding a book swap on Friday, more
information will follow.
Teams may be sending home additional information about other activities that are being held
during the week.
