Voluntary consent is necessary to participate in electronic transactions for all
federally required notices and authorizations to Federal Student Aid recipients per
34 CFR 668.165 (The Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act
E-Sign Act).
If you choose to voluntarily consent to participate in electronic transactions then
you will receive federally required notifications via email and you can submit
federally required authorizations via the internet, e.g. Lighthouse.
If you choose not to voluntarily consent to participate in electronic transactions then
you will receive federally required notifications via regular mail and you will have
to submit federally required authorizations via paper.
You only have to complete this consent form once while you are at GCSC, as it
may stand for your entire GCSC career, but you may rescind this consent at any
time by writing to the Financial Aid Office.
By signing below you are stating that you understand and agree that Gulf Coast
State College uses e-mail as an official method of communication with you, and
that you are therefore responsible for reading the e-mails you receive from Gulf
Coast State College on a timely basis. Be advised that you will receive courtesy
emails from the Financial Aid Office regardless of your answer to this question.
