The SARC contains information about the condition and performance of each California public school. Under the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) all local educational agencies (LEAs) are required to prepare a Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP), which describes how they intend to meet annual school-specific goals for all pupils, with specific activities to address state and local priorities. Additionally, data reported in an LCAP is to be consistent with data reported in the SARC. For more information about SARC requirements, see the California Department of Education (CDE) SARC Web page at http://www.cde.ca.gov/ta/ac/sa/. For more information about the LCFF or LCAP, see the CDE LCFF Web page at http://www.cde.ca.gov/fg/aa/lc/. For additional information about the school, parents and community members should contact the school principal or the district office. DataQuest DataQuest is an online data tool located on the CDE DataQuest Web page at http://dq.cde.ca.gov/dataquest/ that contains additional information about this school and comparisons of the school to the district, the county, and the state. Specifically, DataQuest is a dynamic system that provides reports for accountability (e.g., state Academic Performance Index [API], federal Adequate Yearly Progress [AYP]), test data, enrollment, high school graduates, dropouts, course enrollments, staffing, and data regarding English learners. Internet Access Internet access is available at public libraries and other locations that are publicly accessible (e.g., the California State Library). Access to the Internet at libraries and public locations is generally provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Other use restrictions may include the hours of operation, the length of time that a workstation may be used (depending on availability), the types of software programs available on a workstation, and the ability to print documents. School Facility Conditions and Planned Improvements – Most Recent Year In June 1997, SCUSD passed a $145 million Bond issue to repair, renovate and upgrade District schools. During the last eight years, all District schools have been upgraded for seismic safety and to meet all current Americans With Disabilities Act requirements. New playground equipment has been installed. We have renovated plumbing, heating, roofs, parking lots, play fields where necessary and modernized all classrooms. Classrooms have been renovated to accommodate technology, class size reduction and other specific needs. Our high schools received new Performing Arts Centers in 2004. All school buildings in the District meet or exceed the Field Act's earthquake safety specifications and EPA asbestos standards. Staff and students engage in regular fire and earthquake safety drills and each school has a plan and materials to meet an emergency situation. The District participates in the State School Deferred Maintenance Program, which provides state matching funds on a dollarfor-dollar basis to assist school districts with expenditures for major repair or replacement of existing school building components. Typically, this includes roofing, plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, interior/exterior painting, floor systems, asbestos abatement, and paving. District maintenance staff ensures that the repairs necessary to keep the school in good repair and working order are completed in a timely manner. A computerized work order process is used to ensure efficient service and that emergency repairs are given the highest priority. The District governing board has adopted cleaning standards for all schools in the district. A summary of these standards is available at the District Office. The principal works daily with the custodial staff to develop cleaning schedules to ensure a clean and safe school. The main campus was built in 1956 and 1957. Additional wings were added in 1964 and 1971. Portables were added in 1991, 1997, and 1998. Buildings were modernized in 2002. This school has 35 classrooms, a multipurpose room, a library, and an administrative building. 1/28/2016 Powered by SchoolCity, Inc. We also encourage parents to volunteer in classrooms and accompany students on field trips. Parents are encouraged to attend PTA meetings, School Site Council Meetings, and Parent Involvement Nights. Parents are also heading Project Cornerstone - reading books and teaching lessons related to character educations in our TK5th grade classrooms.
