Sailboat – BALT27 In an effort to meet the expectations of contemporary customers who wish to have luxurious and functional yacht equipment and at the same time do not want to spend a fortune, the Balt-Yacht yard from Augustów, Poland offers the Balt 27 sailboat designed by Wojciech Spisak. The Balt 27 is a small seagoing yacht manufactured using the cutting-edge technologies, top quality materials and designed meticulously to have everything which can be found on larger yachts. A tourist-sports yacht, she is perfect for safe family cruises in comfortable conditions and also for definitely more sport-oriented sailing. In the standard version the yacht is equipped with a fin keel, but a shallow false keel and pivoting centreboard are also available, and as a result the Balt 27 can sail in shallow waters inaccessible for larger seagoing vessels. Whether equipped with a fin keel, a shallow false keel or a pivoting centreboard, the yacht features an excellent directional stability and meets the stability criteria for the design category B. Design From about the mid-length, the width of the Balt 27 hull is practically equal, and as a result the interior is more spacious and better utilized. The hull shell is monolithic and stiffened by a laminate floor grid and a large one-piece internal insert. The insert determines the entire division of the yacht interior into luggage compartments, berths, chests, lockers, kitchen cupboards and the bathroom cabin. The deck shell is of mixed, monolithic and sandwich design, with the core made of PVC foam and FIRET-COREMAT non-woven fabric. In the seagoing version, the ballast is an iron casting glued under the hull. The rudder is profiled, laminate, pivoting type, and is placed in the cheek under the stern. The yacht cockpit is very traditional, the benches are parallel to the cockpit tub, the backrests are high, everything has been carefully designed for easy use and safety. A small swim platform makes it easy to come ashore or aboard. Interior Despite small external dimensions, well designed hull makes the yacht interior very spacious. With the height inside 1,86 m , you feel like in a much larger boat. The yacht features two oblong rectangular windows in the sides below the deck and windows in the superstructure which ensure excellent lighting inside and good visibility. All hatches are of the pivoting type, and the windows in the boat’s sides are fixed. The galley has space for a sizeable fridge and a cooker on cardan joint. Hot water can be provided by a boiler, and the Webasto can ensure a comfortable temperature during cold nights. In the fore part of the hull there is a triangular berth for 2-3 people. In the central part is the pillar with lifting nice table with foldable side tops. Under the mattress of the fore berth there is a recess for the clean water tank and baggage compartment or for the bow thruster, and the chain locker is located above the berth. The lockers are under the mattresses, and long shelves are installed along the boat’s sides. More lockers accessible from the cockpit side are provided in the aft part. The cabin finishing includes a laminate soffit ceiling, and there is a lining on the cabin sides. Elements made of a decorative plywood add variety to the interior design. A crew of four is recommended for sea trips, but even six people can sleep if necessary, and the whole crew can seat in the mess room. Sails and rigging The boat is easy to steer during difficult weather conditions and is relatively manoeuvrable, particularly that the bow thruster can always be used. The manoeuvrability is achieved by suitably located centre of buoyancy, adequate ballast and a large rudder blade. The boat has a SLOOP rigging with total area of basic sails of about 30 m2. As a standard, the boat is equipped with a foresail and a mainsail. The version with a self-tacking foresail is being developed to allow one-man operation, as well as the version with a 40 m2 spinnaker for more ambitious sailers. The mainsail is of the fully battened type, and is pulled up on slides and after taking in is stored in a lazy jack. The foresail has two jib sheets guided by pulleys on rails located on the sides of the deck and can also be equipped with a roller. There are 4 cleats fore and aft, pulpits and pushpits around the decks, and stanchions for life lines and for the stilon tape in the cockpit area. The yacht can be equipped with a 9-14 hp inboard engine, bow thruster, and teak deck for traditionalists. She can be steered with a tiller, but a steering wheel can be installed on request. The deep rudder blade can be fixed or foldable. Summary The yacht is suitable for family vacation cruises and for chartering. Simple design and equipment, cutting-edge technologies, generous selection of accessories, functionality of each detail, reliability and safety – these are key features of our newest boat Balt 27 which guarantee top quality and long service life.
