Lake Olympia Middle School Theatre Department September 8, 2016 Dear Drama Students and Parents, Welcome to the Mustang EverReady Players 2016-2017 season! We are excited to have you join us this year, and we hope your experience is both rewarding and enjoyable. The amount of paperwork and information given to you at the beginning of the year can be a bit overwhelming, so we have prepared this letter to hopefully summarize and simplify things for you. All forms listed below will be distributed at this parent meeting on September 8, 2016 in the Commons after Open House. A. PAPERWORK AND DUES. The following items are required of each student: 1. CLUB DUES. Each student is responsible for $40 Drama Club dues for the year. This includes a shirt and some field trips 2. PARENT VOLUNTEERS. Parents are urged to become involved with the Drama Club. This group of dedicated parents assists our group in numerous ways throughout the year, both financially and physically. It goes without saying that our group could not function as we do without their support. Please support this important group. 3. EMA. Each student must complete an Emergency Medical Authorization form for Drama. The ones you filled out for school, sports, band, etc. will not suffice. Make sure a parent signs the correct section at the bottom. EMA’s can also be filled out and printed from the Drama website. (see Section B.) 4. POLICIES AND PROCEDURES ACKNOWLEDGEMENT. Please read over the attendance policy, then sign, detach and return the slip at the bottom indicating that both the student and parent understands both the policies and the consequences. 5. STUDENT INFORMATION SHEET. Please fill this form out completely and return it. B. WEBSITE. Ms.Shoemake’s teacher website contains a section on the front page known as “The Callboard”. This area should be your first stop for the latest news and announcements from the Directors. We encourage you to bookmark the website and check it frequently. The address is: http://www.fortbendisd.com/Domain/5591. Once at our website, you will find a section on the left-hand side called the “Form Forum.” If you lose a handout, you can print another one from this section. Please take some time to explore the other areas of our website as well. We believe you will find it to be a valuable resource when you have a question about schedules, events, who to contact, etc. C. DEADLINE. Students are urged to sign up for this service. (Instructions will be distributed at the meeting on September 8). Students are still responsible for all information conveyed via paper handouts and on the drama website, and text reminders will not always be sent. The text messaging service is simply a way for us to communicate last- minute changes and updates. J. MERCHANDISE ORDERS: Orders and Payment for Show shirts are separate from the Drama Club dues. These will be done per show. They are optional but they really help us sell the show and crate an ensemble when we all wear them at school. Parents may also purchase show shirts.
