Experience It! Hakare Tasting
Embark on a culinary adventure that offers a window on Icelandic culture. For over 400 years the
people of Iceland have hunted the Greenland shark. Once cured and hung to dry for 4 to 5 months,
the meat of this mysterious shark turns into a delicacy known as “hakare.” Join us as you meet a
family who keeps this traditional trade alive on their farm. You will have the opportunity to explore
the process from start to finish, completing your experience with a tasting! It is sure to be like
nothing you have ever tried before. Eating it is considered a sign of hardiness among the locals.
