The profile for this race heavily favours horses who can lead or settle on pace. This leaves She Will Reign and Khan as the standouts and they also happen to have the best
last start Fin (Start to Finish) benchmarks as well. Veranillo has not demonstrated the speed to go with these, early or late. Betting Confidence: High; Back – #5 She Will Reign;
Lay – #1 Veranillo.

Feature Race Comments
2016
Astern led the small field of 7 at class benchmark pace and controlled the race all the way. The field pretty much finished in market order with Defcon and Mount Panorama threatening at
the 200. They each recorded good closing sections but they had given too big a start and the winner held them late.
2015
Headwater went straight to the front and dominated the small field of 7 running along quickly but easily, almost 4 lengths faster than the class benchmark. He was eased to the middle of
the track by Bowman and looked far superior. He was able to record a closing section around class benchmark pace and gave nothing else a chance. Ottoman ($3.20) raced 3 wide with
cover but couldn't finish off.
2014
A small field of 7 and the race was run at no pace at all (5 len slower than class benchmark early). The winner was far superior, gapping a bunch of them behind. She slid across from the
outside draw to race handy outside the lead and ran away with it. Turf Sprint ($5.50) held the lead on the inside to the turn but was spent late in the race.
2013
The 2 leaders I'm All The Talk ($15) and Kuroshio ($6.50) went very fast early in the field of 12, running the first section 9 len faster than the benchmark for this class. The winner Sweet
Idea had a lovely run off the fast pace from her inside draw. The 2 placegetters were backmarkers whose runs were probably flattered by the hectic early speed.
