to the Hume Global Learning Centre and the Hume City
Council Offices in Broadmeadows. It comprises a large
caterer’s kitchen, mobile stages, section screens,

QUESTIONS
1. How do I know which
facility I need or want?

and where do I return them?
Read the list of facilities available for
hire and make a choice based on the
area, type of function and how many
people you think will be attending.
Key pick up and drop off is usually
from one of Council’s Leisure Centres.
Arrangements for keys need to be
discussed when hiring the facilities.

Prices are competitive and vary
depending on the type of function
and facility required.
3. How can I book a facility?
To book a Council facility, call the
contact number as listed beside
the facility of your choice. Hall
guides are available on the internet
or you can request to have a copy
sent to your home or office by
contacting Council on 9205 2200.
You can utilise the kitchen facilities
for self-catering. You can also use
external catering for your function.
7. Can I put up decorations
at the facility?
You can be creative and decorate
the facilities. All decorations are to
be removed at the end of each
function. Helium balloons are not
permitted. See conditions of hire.
4. What sort of functions
suit the facilities?
8. What is available at
the centre?
Facilities cater for a variety of needs,
from birthday parties, weddings,
community meetings, concerts
and performances.
All centres provide tables, chairs ,
kitchen facilities and car parking.
Some facilities provide extra meeting/
function elements that may be
available for use e.g. whiteboards,
tablecloths, audio equipment etc.
Some limitations may apply to
car parking in peak periods at
some centres.

9. What time do I have to
leave the facility?
13. How well do I have to clean
the facility after my function?
All Hume City Council facilities have
to be locked, with alarms set by 1am.
All facilities should be cleaned and left
the way you found them. All recyclable
waste should be placed in the recycle
bin with a yellow lid.
10. Is there a number I can call,
if I have any problems?
In an Emergency dial 000 and if you
have an issue with the facility phone
the booking centre or the Council
after hours number on 9205 2200
for assistance.
11. Can we smoke at the facility?
Smoking is not permitted inside any
Council facility. If your guests are
smoking outside please dispose of
butts responsibly.
12. Do I need to pay a bond?
As part of the conditions for hire a
refundable bond applies at all facilities.
If all conditions are met, the bond is
returned in full and can take up to four
weeks. Contact the centre after your
function with a copy of your receipt
to assist in this bond return process.
If facilities are left dirty or a breakage
occurs, a deduction from your bond
will be made.
13. Do I need a liquor license
for my function?
Liquor licenses are required for the
sale of all liquor. Consumption of
alcohol is prohibited for any persons
under the age of 18 years. Party register
permits are also required by the local
Police. Visit www.police.vic.gov.au/
partysafe for more details.
14. Do I need Public Liability
Insurance for my group?
All permanent and casual users require
Public Liability Insurance cover to the
value of $10 million. Insurance can
be arranged at some booking centres,
for a fee.
