DR. JENNIFER CLINE TO SPEAK ON OCTOBER 26 AT 7:00 P.M.
You’re invited to a city-wide Parent-Teacher Meeting at New Covenant Schools on Monday evening,
October 26, to engage in a one-hour seminar led by Dr. Jennifer Cline. The seminar will provide information on the social media
explosion and its effects on young people. Dr. Cline is highly commended having recently completed her doctoral dissertation on
social media and the effects it has on young adult students. Since 2001, she has been a Licensed Professional Counselor, working
in private practice with children, adolescents, individuals and couples. She earned her doctorate in Counseling and Supervision
from James Madison University. Her dissertation, “Wired To Bond: The Influence of Computer-Mediated Communication on
Relationships,” focused on how social media is changing interpersonal relationships, has been published in its entirety. Dr. Cline
will discuss the less understood, but emerging data that signals changes we already see in the classroom as students grow up
with new (sometimes harmful) ways of relating to one another. She will discuss with our parents some of the underlying causes
that contribute to the complex web of social disruption in middle and high school relationships. The seminar is offered to you at
no charge and will be held in the Marie Macdonald Chapel at New Covenant Schools on Monday, October 26, at 7:00 p.m.

Pre-K and Kindergarten students gathered in front
of the school on a beautiful morning last week for a visit
from first responders from the Lynchburg Fire Department.
The officers talked about fire safety and let the
kids explore the big, red trucks! The students’ little eyes
were wide with wonder as they experienced the vast
vehicles and asked question after question. Many thanks
to members of the department for sharing part of their
morning with our youngest students at New Covenant
Schools!
