To earn graduation credit, your child will have to pass the Algebra 1 Mississippi Assessment
Program exam – a test that may determine her/his future. To help your student succeed, we
created ALGEBRA NATION – a FREE highly effective, intensive, and interactive algebra and Algebra
1 MAP exam preparation resource. Your student will be able to receive algebra help and watch
videos 24/7.
What is the Algebra 1 MAP exam?
-­‐‑ For your child to receive algebra credit and earn graduation credit, she/he must pass this
test at the end of the year.
What is Algebra Nation?
-­‐‑ Algebra Nation meets your child on his/her own time in a familiar, comfortable pressure free
environment. Algebra Nation is available online and on iPhones and Android phones.
-­‐‑ Highly interactive and fun videos help your child review the material they learn in the
classroom after school or on the weekends.
-­‐‑ Study guide packets come with every video. Your child can use their workbooks to follow
along with the videos or print out study guides from the Algebra Nation website.
-­‐‑ The “Test Yourself!” practice tool (only available online) allows your student to check if s/he
understood the material. The “Test Yourself!” section also looks similar to the MAP, so it will
also help your child get comfortable with computer-based testing.
o The results page will not only show which problems your child got right or wrong, but
will also feature videos that break down how to solve each problem.
-­‐‑ Algebra Wall: interactive discussion forum where students can ask and answer questions
about the material.
o Study Experts and teachers answer questions and read every thread to ensure the
accuracy of peer replies.
What can I do to help my child succeed?
Go to www.AlgebraNation.com and click “Enter Algebra Nation.” Have your child enter the
name of his/her school. The next screen will prompt them to enter their username and
password.
Ask your child to watch videos to help him/her on homework, to review for a test, or to ask
questions on the Algebra Wall that weren’t answered in class. Also encourage your child to
regularly use the “Test Yourself!” Practice Tool. The practice tool will help your student see which
parts of the material she/he understood, and which videos she/he should review.
