66th Composite Squadron holds Awards Ceremony By Lt. Col. Grace Stapf, CAP 25 January 2015 Hawaii Wing's 66th Composite Squadron held a special awards ceremony at its weekly meeting on Tuesday, January 6. Hawaii Wing Commander Col. Jeff Wong presented the Gen. Billy Mitchell Award to Cadet Second Lieutenants Ashley Turner and Charis Lucero Cadet 2nd. Lt. Turner earned Mitchell Award number 64,321, and 2nd. Lt. Susan Turner wanted to show the cadets the senior members who had significant achievements in their CAP cadet careers. She brought forward six senior members in attendance, some of whom brought their achievement certificates with them. The seniors included Col. Jeff Wong (Mitchell #3348, Earhart #1583, Eaker), Lt. Col. Grace Stapf (Mitchell #48877, Earhart #12210, Eaker #1502, Spaatz #1621), Maj. Dan Healey (Mitchell #41076, Earhart #9511), Capt. Susan Turner (Mitchell #15756, Earhart #8720), Capt. Nathan Stickel (Mitchell #44374, Earhart #10548), and 1st. Lt. Tyler Givens (Mitchell #55747, Earhart #14596, Eaker #2636). It was an excellent opportunity for the cadets to see what achievements can be had through hard work and dedication in the cadet program. Wong presented members with Civil Air Patrol Achievement Awards for achievements during the past year. Cadet 2nd. Lt. Turner, 1st. Lt. Givens, and 1st. Lt. Crayton were presented Achievement Awards for their coordination of, and participation in the 66th Composite Squadron's Cyber Patriot Team. The project was spearheaded by Cadet 2nd. Lt. Turner who arranged practice space, equipment, and senior member support. Col. Wong presented a CAP Achievement Award to 1st. Lt. Cynthia Christian, HIWG, CAP] The evening’s ceremony concluded with a Cadet Change of Command Ceremony where Cadet 2nd Lt. Lucero passed command of the squadron on to Cadet 2nd Lt. Turner. Cadet 2nd Lt. Lucero admirably concluded a 12-month term as Cadet Commander in which she lead the cadets of the squadron in their weekly activities. For successfully completion of her term, Col. Wong presented Cadet 2nd. Lt. Lucero with a CAP Achievement Award. In her new position as Cadet Commander, Cadet 2nd Lt.
