2. 2010 SOUTH QLD REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
The 2010 South QLD Regional Champs were held last weekend at Toogoolawah, QLD.
After nervously watching the weather forecast all week only to be told that it was going to pour down all
weekend, the weather came good and held out for an entire day!
This was just enough time to squeeze in 5 rounds of 4-way open and 4 rounds of inter, along with 3 rounds of 2way VFS.
Competition for the day consisted of: 2 X 4-way Open FS teams, 4 X Inter teams and 3 X 2-way VFS teams, which
is a pretty good turnout considering the weather predictions!
The winning teams were:
4-WAY OPEN
Strategy: (pictured L-R) Priit Vosu, Nerissa Anderson, Steven
Geens, Lisa Perdichizzi (v), and Ben Nordkamp
4-WAY FS INTER
Frika Dellen: (pictured L-R) Aaron Radford, Philip Kemper, Lisa
Perdichizzi (V), Dale Finley, and Steven Geens.
2-WAY VFS
Made in Mekah: (pictured L-R) Marios Christodoulou and Justin De Waard
with Ben Dalgish (v)(not in picture)
The judging Team: (pictured L-R) Lindy Rochow-Williams, Corey
Harrison and Faye Cox.
For a full round up of the scores and full team compositions, head to the APF website’s Competition Results
page.
The 8-way FS and 2-way FS has been postponed until the 2 – 3 October.
Congratulations to all who participated and a big thank you to the wonderful judges and who contributed to
make the event a success!!
3. WHAT OUR MEMBERS ARE UP TO
Airsports Fiesta for Laiwu
The 2010 China International Airsports Fiesta (CIAF) will be held in Xueyue Tourism Area in Laiwu, Shandong
province, from Sept 25-29. Check out last year’s event on YouTube
Organized by the General Administration of Sport in China and the Shandong provincial government, the gala
will be divided into exhibition and competitive events. Acrobatic flying, aviation and paramotor flying are
included in both categories while the former group also comprises parachuting, light-helicopter, glider, hot-air
balloon and model airplane flying.
More than 700 pilots and aircraft lovers from here and abroad will participate in the event while 358 various
flying machines are expected to soar above Laiwu.
The biggest airsports event in China, the CIAF debuted last year in Laiwu, which has become the permanent
host city of the annual gala, and attracted more than 1,000 pilots and judges from 19 countries.
APF member Graeme Windsor will be attending in his capacity as President of the International Parachuting
Commission (IPC).
