Lynn Wheatley Love Links Designed by: Running with Scissors Quilters & Studio 180 Design Interlocking chevrons make a fun and unique looking quilt. A difficult looking design is made easy using flying geese, making this a quick and easy quilt to master. With so many options available on the Wing Clipper® I you can make this quilt in 8 different sizes. The Love Links are made by assembling traditional flying geese into chevron blocks using two geese in reverse colors. Those blocks are arranged to make links which are interlocked to create the Love Links pattern. The class will include step-by-step use of the Wing Clipper I to create perfect Flying Geese. 8 Project Sizes: See cutting chart for sizes Basic Equipment: Sewing machine in GOOD WORKING order with new needle Neutral or matching colored thread (tan or grey) Rotary cutter (new blade suggested) Cutting mat (12” x 18” suggested) 6” x 12” Ruler Fabric Marking Pen or Pencil General sewing tools – scissors, pins, seam ripper, etc. Notebook, camera Recommended but not required: Invisigrip – this is a non-slip film for the backside of tools Specific Project Equipment: Studio 180 Design Pattern – Love Links Studio 180 Design Wing Clipper I Quilters Magic Wand – 1/4” marker tool Pre-Class Cutting: Pre-cutting is required for this class. As a minimum you should cut out both the large & small squares in the colored and background fabrics. These are the first four lines in the cutting charts located on the following pages. Depending on your speed of sewing, you should be able to complete several sets of chevrons to see the interlocking links. If time allows, go ahead and cut the remaining background so you can layout what you have completed in class. Fabric Yardage: Based on 40” of useable fabric with a few cutting errors. Please plan accordingly. Lynn always cuts single piece borders 1-2” longer than specified in the pattern and then trims the border fabric to actual size after quilt center is pieced and measured.
