What is hot?
Note from the Principal…
‘Happy hearts, enquiring minds,
promising futures’
Welcome to the summer term and what
a superb first few weeks back we have
had! It has been wonderful to see the children on
the field at play time with the sun shining. There is
a lot to look forward to in the coming months with
the usual summer term sports days, trips and visits,
as well as the exciting end events/products for the
children’s curriculums.
A reminder that children must be in their
classrooms by 8:55 am each morning. Too
many children are arriving late in reception
after 9 am and it causes too much disruption to
children’s learning. Please make every effort to
bring your child to school on time. Thank you.
A warm welcome to the new staff that have started
the school this term. As part of our expanding and
successful school, we have appointed Anna
Wichmann-Lima who is the new admin assistant in
the office. In addition to that, we have appointed
Sasha Morris as a lead TA to work with children
across the school on speech and language
development. They both come to us with a great
deal of experience and have already made an
excellent start.
Many thanks

Attendance
We are delighted to see that our attendance
figures have improved. On our first week back
we reached 97.2%. We are certain we can
keep this up!
Last few places for reception in September
We are delighted to see that we have our
highest ever intake for reception in
September. We have a few places left, so
please contact school admission office at
County Council on 01905 822700 or
www.worcestershire.gov.uk/schooladmissions
if you would like a place for your child or have
not had a confirmation or if you hear of any
children requiring a school place. If you need
any assistance, please contact the Academy
office. Many thanks.

Year 2 Visit
As part of their ‘Africa’ project, Year 2 were treated
to an exciting day on Friday when they met two
pythons, a parrot, a bull frog, a scorpion, a
hedgehog, a skunk and even meerkats! Steve from
‘Tropical Inc’ revealed lots of interesting facts about
the animals and everyone had the opportunity to
hold one. Mollie said “I enjoyed holding the
hedgehog because it wasn’t spiky and it felt like the
top of a hairbrush”. Hayley liked holding the python
because it felt warm and soft but it was quite
heavy!
