Foreword
Non-household retail charges (default tariffs)
This document contains the non-household retail charges (default tariffs) for 2017-18.
These charges have been calculated in accordance with Ofwat PR16 non-household
price review, published 15 December 2016.
This document contains our signed Board Assurance Statement for the non-household
retail charges (default tariffs).
The Board Assurance Statement has been signed following assurance of the process
involved in calculating the charges. This included a review of the impact on our
customers which has remained below 5%, and assurance of the internal systems of
control which were sufficient to satisfy our external auditors, legal obligations and all
license conditions.
Non-household charges 2017-18
The final charges which non-household customer bills are based on include wholesale
charges and retail charges.
These final charges are published within the “Charges Scheme 2017-18” and are
applicable to all Yorkshire Water non-household customers who have not entered into
a separate retail contract with Yorkshire Water.
All the terms and conditions applicable to these charges are contained in the “Charges
scheme 2017-18”.
Non-household retail competition
From April 2017, 1.2 million businesses, charities and public sector organisations
(“businesses”) that are customers of water companies operating wholly or mainly in
England will be able to choose their supplier of water and wastewater retail services.
Following market opening, eligible businesses are able to change their retailer and
select a package of price and services that best meets their needs. In England, some
business customers may find themselves transferred to another retailer if their provider
exits the business retail market and no longer provides retail services for business
customers.
