HIGHLIGHTS & DESCRIPTION
- “Hunt at Marromeu Safaris”
8 DAYS FROM $15,595.00
Overview
HIGHLIGHTS
This hunting destination east of South Africa and
Zimbabwe was formerly known in colonial times as
Portuguese East Africa, and now is a country developing
fast. The hunting industry is growing quickly and the more
and more possibilities are opening up in this trackless
country.
Excellent Buffalo Hunt
Hunting Safaris of very high Quality
Sable, Waterbuck, Bushbuck, Crocodile,
Elephant and Leopard
Exciting Hunt
While the primary game species here is buffalo, it is also
possible to hunt attractive game species such as sable,
waterbuck, bushbuck, crocodile as well as elephant and
leopard. If you wish to hunt leopard, elephant together with
a range of exciting species of antelope, it is necessary to
book a minimum of 14 hunting days.
Every day the hunt starts out from camp in an all terrain
vehicle (Argo), and once you have located the game
species you wish to hunt, you will begin stalking it on foot.
You must be prepared to spend many hours stalking.
Buffalo are often shot at very close range, which makes
the hunt incredibly exciting. You will normally hunt from
early in the morning until nightfall. Lunch is usually taken
out in the bush.

ACCOMMODATION - “Marrom
eu”
MARROMEU
Occasionally you will sleep in a small “fly-camp” on one of the
small wooded islands that can be found in the delta. There is
plenty of opportunity to go fishing along the rivers and
streams, while the bird life in Coutada 10 is without doubt
some of the best you can find in southern Africa. Elephants
are not an uncommon sight and the district is also famous for
its big forest leopards.
You will stay in a classic bush-camp consisting of 4 guest
houses, all with private bathroom and toilet, as well as a
sitting-/dining hut built from reeds and palm leaves, and a cosy
fireplace around which one can sit in the evening and discuss
the day’s events over a cold drink. The meals are of a high
standard, and the beautifully prepared food often features
game. Now and again you hunt in remote parts of the district,
when you will sleep simpler tented camps that lies in various
different places around the enormous hunting district.

HUNTING AREA - “Coutada 10”
COUTADA 10
Coutada 10 lies in the eastern part of the country, close to the
Indian Ocean and the enormous Zambezi river delta.
The Coutada 10 concession consists of the southern part of
the Zambezi river delta. In the vast marshlands of the delta a
population of over 13,000 buffalo lives side by side with large
herds of sable, nyala and waterbuck, together with plenty of
smaller species as well as the resident hippos and crocodiles.
The area covers around 300,000 ha., and by its very nature
the hunting is both very challenging and eventful. Here you
meet untamed Africa face to face - and it will be a meeting you
will never forget!
Coutada 10 stretches right down to the coast, lying in the
southern part of the Zambezi river delta and bordered to the
north by the Marromeu reserve. To the south east it borders
the Indian Ocean, which uniquely gives the district around
50km of unspoiled beaches.
DO YOU HAVE
QUESTIONS?
The main means of transport on the district are Argo
amphibious vehicles - these are the only machines that can
move through the delta’s muddy reed swamps and bring
hunters into the far flung areas where the buffalos can be
found. In the districts woodlands you can find unusually large
numbers of the sought after species of small antelope, the
blue and red duikers, as well as suni and oribi - four of the
“small ten” all in one place.
Although the terrain in Coutada 10 is flat, it is still very diverse.
Due to the high levels of rainfall there are many palm trees,
and along the many rivers and streams you will fince thick
forest consisting of many different tree species.
