Dear Customer,
Rhodia Engineering Plastics has announced a price increase on the complete range of Technyl
and TechnylStar polyamide 6, 6/6, Co Polymer 6/6-6 and 6/10 compounded product grades in
North America.
This increase is due to rising costs of raw materials. As a result of this increase, the price for the
Technyl grades will be increased by $0.10/ lb effective April 1, 2012 for all shipments.
Rhodia has worked proactively to improve productivity and to reduce our manufacturing and
operating costs over the past years and we’ll continue to sustain these efforts while operating
according to highest industry standards. Nevertheless, in current circumstances, our efforts are
inadequate to overcome the current significant cost pressures.
Please contact me with any questions or for further discussion on this matter. Rhodia remains
committed to providing you with the highest quality products and services available in the
industry.
Sincerely,
Roger Moroney

Hello,
To follow is information about prices and availability for many thermoplastic resins.
Polypropylene
The supply of propylene monomer and polypropylene polymer increased again in June as buyers
reduced their purchases. Prices for many grades came down $0.10/LB to $0.15/LB. The forecast for
July is not yet clear. It could still go either way depending on the level of inventories at the end of June
and the level of demand going into the long Independence Day Holiday.
Polyethylene
Spot Ethylene has dropped a little from earlier in June. It is expected that the pending $0.05/LB market
increase for polyethylene will be implemented in June. Several producers had previously announced
price increases for June from $0.04/LB to $0.06/LB that do not appear to be as solid today. There are
several specialty ethylene and EVA grades still in short supply. Price increases for these resins will be
implemented as scheduled.
