Polypropylene The supply of propylene monomer and polypropylene polymer increased again in June as buyers reduced their purchases. Prices for many grades came down $0.10/LB to $0.15/LB. The forecast for July is not yet clear. It could still go either way depending on the level of inventories at the end of June and the level of demand going into the long Independence Day Holiday. Polyethylene Spot Ethylene has dropped a little from earlier in June. It is expected that the pending $0.05/LB market increase for polyethylene will be implemented in June. Several producers had previously announced price increases for June from $0.04/LB to $0.06/LB that do not appear to be as solid today. There are several specialty ethylene and EVA grades still in short supply. Price increases for these resins will be implemented as scheduled.
