Université d`Angers Fall or Spring Semesters

Université d’Angers
Fall or Spring Semesters
This program is open for all majors.
Université d’Angers
Founded in 1337, the Université d'Angers (University of Angers) was re-established in its current form in
1971, celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2001. Located at the heart of the Val de Loire, just 1½ hours
from Paris, the University of Angers is a multidisciplinary institution offering a wide range of both
traditional and innovative courses. It is made up of three campuses in Angers (Belle-Beille, St Serge and
Santé), a satellite in Cholet and a site in Saumur. Anxious to reinforce its potential of research, the
University of Angers concentrates its means around privileged axes of development, in close connection
with the communities and the companies.
Angers, France
Located in the western portion of the Loire Valley, Angers--with a population of more than 200,000--has
been described as a "bright and radiant city." Angers is at once modern and medieval, combining
technological industries and an efficient public transportation system with winding cobblestone streets
and the Château d'Angers, which dates back to the thirteenth century. Angers' beautiful gardens, diverse
museums, and medieval tapestries (the largest collection in the world) provide ample opportunity to
explore France's culture firsthand. Thirty thousand university students give Angers a youthful energy.
The Loire Valley, including Angers, is noted for the quality of its language; it is said, in fact, that the
purest form of French is spoken here. The program in Angers offers students the opportunity to
experience France to the fullest--its people, its culture, and above all, its language and location to study
abroad – consider going for two semesters!
