It’s no surprise that Rome is known as the Eternal City - none have a past
so colourful and few have shaped western civilisation in such a profound
way. So rich in history and so very alive, the city leaves a deep impression
on all who visit. Rome is a must for lovers of art, and is the city with the
highest concentration of historical and architectural riches in the world,
with over 16% of the world’s cultural treasures. It is the only city in the
world to host an entire foreign state in its confines, the Vatican City.
Amongst the variety of proverbs and sayings about Rome is “He, who
Rome does not see, believes in nothing”.

The Villa d’Este is a masterpiece
of the Italian Garden, and is

Heritage list. With its impressive
concentration
of
fountains,
nymphs, grottoes, plays of water,
and music, it constitutes a muchcopied model for European
gardens. The Villa Adriana was
created in the 2 ndC A.D. by the
Roman emperor Hadrian and
is an incredible complex of
buildings which combine the
best elements of architectural
heritage of Egypt, Greece and
Rome to form an “ideal city”. We

After breakfast we depart
our hotel and transfer to Villa
Borghese, now the largest public

abiding pleasures and attractions
for Romans and visitors alike.
The intimate and charming
