George has to adapt from inside to outside lighting. “Today’s cameras, including phone
cameras, adjust automatically to most lighting without fancy flashes.” He pulls out his
mobile phone for those subtle behind-the-scenes shots that are less obtrusive.

It’s important to shoot with the sun behind you. “If the sun is in front, you’ll only get a
silhouette, without the fine features.” To get your best shot, ask your subject, to keep her
eyes open, lift her chin and smile!”

makes shooting lots of pictures easy and worry-free”

; SHEDDING
Good photography depends on good lighting. Especially at night, George recommends
you choose a well-lit spot and keep the background as light and bright as possible. “With
mobile technology, if you have enough light, you can shoot without a flash and still get great
pictures.” Always hold the phone as steady as possible for the clearest shot, and remember
to pan slowly when shoothing video.
For more than 15 years, he’s been shooting the world’s most celebrated
stars at major events, from film festivals and award shows to fashion galas and
movie premieres. “Even before I began my career, I was always a huge fan of
the stars,” says Pimentel. “Instead of asking for an autograph, I went for a
picture for that special up-close-and-personal glimpse.” Naturally, George
uses the finest equipment to make sure he gets the very best photos. And
that includes his Motorola mobile phone. Because there are times when
a quick snap of your Motorola will give you the best shot!

PARTY
> AFTER
This is when the stars really shine. When George is “off duty”, he pulls out his Motorola
mobile phone for casual picture-taking. “It’s more relaxing for the stars, and I can capture
some fun candid shots to save for my personal scrapbook and send to the celebrities
to enjoy too.” Use your K1m mobile phone to capture video of all the after-hours
festivities – with a 1-touch video button and an ultra slim design, it’s easy to use and easy
to carry. Share your video immediately with the playback feature, or wait until the morning
after to download.

TIP

Large crowds are not always easy to control (especially when you’re shooting at an
event), but try to select moments when there’s as little movement as possible. Hold your
camera as still as possible – rest your elbow on a table, counter or railing, so your forearm
acts as a tripod.
STARS
> SHOOTING
It’s all about good timing. On the red carpet, George positions himself well, calls out until
he gets the star’s attention and just the right pose, then shoots. You’ll always be at the
right place at the right time to capture those spontaneous moments with your mobile
phone, since it’s lightweight and easy to use. “You’ll get quality shots without carrying
around a camera,” says George.

George. “I make sure we’re head-to-head, then extend my arm so the phone is aimed
at us both, at arm’s length for just the right shot.” With Motorola’s K1m, you can even
take video of yourself with all of your favourite celebs – don’t worry about running out of
space, the K1m is compatible with up to 2G of micro SD extended memory.
