Dear 4th grade parents,
Your 4th grade student has been working on the musical North Pole Exposure! Our performance date is
Tuesday, December, 10th. We will have two performances that day at 2:00 and 6:00. Each 4th grade student
will need to have a costume. The play takes place in the North Pole. Each class represents different
characters that are in the North Pole (toys, elves, snowmen, and reindeer). These are just suggestions you
can have a simple costume or you can be as creative as you want.
If you have a speaking part, dress as your character. If you do NOT have a speaking part look for
your teachers name and dress accordingly.
Mrs. Blackwelder: Your song is “I wanna go to Hawaii.” You need to dress as a snowman a white long sleeve
shirt with 3 black circles pinned on (can be construction paper or pompoms), gloves, scarves, hats, sunglasses.
I will provide the leis.
Mrs. Brown: “I’m Tired” is your class song. You need to dress like an elf. Usually Hobby Lobby has Santa hats
in various colors. You can wear any combination of red, green, and white. If you want to be really fancy Music
in Motion (musicmotion.com) has an elf costume for $16.
Mrs. Johnson: Your class song is “The Four-Hooved, Flying, Red-Nosed Reindeer.” You are reindeer in training
to pull Santa’s sleigh. Usually hobby lobby and Walgreens have antler headbands for a few dollars. You can
dress in any combination of brown, black, and white, paint your nose black and have black socks or gloves on
your hands for the hooves.
MrsTate: Your class song is “We are the Toys” If you Halloween costume falls in the category of a toy you can
wear that. Just make sure it is appropriate (i.e. nothing scary) for school. Some ideas are teddy bears, rubics
cube, Barbie’s, Disney princesses, GI Joes.
Kids: You are investigating the North Pole. You can wear regular “kid” clothes but have on scarves, hats,
mittens, boots because you are visiting a cold place. You might want to avoid winter jackets because the stage
gets pretty hot.
Snowmen: a white long sleeve shirt with 3 black circles pinned on (can be construction paper or pompoms),
gloves, scarves, hats, sunglasses. I will provide the leis.
Reindeer: Usually hobby lobby and Walgreens have antler headbands for a few dollars. You can dress in any
combination of brown, black, and white, paint your nose black and have black socks or gloves on your hands for
the hooves.
Elves: Usually Hobby Lobby has Santa hats in various colors. You can wear any combination of red, green, and
white. If you want to be really fancy Music in Motion (musicmotion.com) has an elf costume for $16.
Rag Dolls: Plaid shirt, dress, overalls, red wigs
Toy Soldiers: Camouflage, army hats
Fashion Doll: Look like Barbie
Jack in the box: a striped shirt, we will have a box decorated for you to fit in on the stage during the toy
scene.
