Summer Programs for School Age Children at The Dow Jones Family Center! Camp Explorations Mission: Summer camp is a time for fun, friendships, and exploration. The mission of Camp Explorations is to provide a place that uses the child’s growing capacity to make choices, work together with others, and assume responsibility in a relaxed and non-school atmosphere to create memories that last a lifetime. In addition to the multiple activities offered that accompany each week’s theme, Camp Explorations offers swimming, enrichments and field trips every week. Camp Explorations’ schedule is set-up so that there is a balance between planned activities and free choice time. Although the camp counselors provide multiple planned activities daily, the direction of each week’s camp is flexible allowing for input from the campers so that the week better reflects each particular group’s interests and ideas. Activities are offered simultaneously so that campers can work in small groups according to both their interests and their age/ability levels.
