Resident of the Month;
Martha Ross
May love and laughter light your days, and warm your heart and
home.
May good and faithful friends be yours, wherever you may roam.
May peace and plenty bless your world with joy that long endures.
May all life’s passing seasons bring the best to you and yours.
Much Appreciated,
Gladys A. Christopher M.S.W., NHA
Administrator, Sterling Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center
Martha Ross loves her room and the people at
Sterling. Cryptograms, coloring and “doing the
Twist” are her favorite activities. She is looking for
a Rummy 500 partner, so let her know if you play.
Martha’s father was a Methodist preacher who “did
his preaching in the pulpit of his Annapolis, Maryland
church.” His seven children developed faith at their
own pace and Martha enjoyed the Youth Group.
Shortly after the family located to Media’s Nazarene
Church, they lost Martha’s mother.
Martha began her career “as a quiller”: a machine
threader for the Aberfole Thread Co. in Bridgeton,
NJ; later she worked for a quarter century as the
Executive Suite Receptionist for Franklin Mint. After
raising three successful daughters, Martha and her
husband retired to Bear, Delaware. Martha now
enjoys the company of her daughters and all of
her siblings. The sisters and brothers are all in their
eighties, except their older sister who turned ninety
last year.
