Adjective Clause Review Grammar 4 BEFORE WATCHING THE FILM Discussion Questions In groups, answer the following questions: 1. Do you make friends easily? 2. Do you have any childhood friendships that are still strong today? Tell your group about them. 3. What is a best friend? Look at the pictures of the main characters in the film. Can you describe them? Use the box provided to write down sentences that describe them. Use adjective clauses. ELLIE CARL While Watching the Movie While you are watching the movie, take notes and answer the following questions: 1. Who is Ellie? Who is Carl? 2. What was Ellie doing when Carl walked in the house? 3. What happened to Carl when he tried to get his balloon back? 4. What are Ellie’s dreams? Where does she want to go? 5. Who is Charles Muntz? 6. What do you think happens next? Combine the two sentences. Use the second sentence as an adjective clause. Give all the possible patterns. 1. Ellie is playing in a house. The house is old. 2. Carl has a balloon. The balloon is blue. 3. The house has a door. The door is broken. 4. Carl is the shy boy. His balloon went flying to the roof. 5. Ellie plays in a house. The girl who became Carls’ friend visited him. 8. Ellie who is a nature explorer visited Carl in his house. 9. Ellie showed Carl a book which was about her adventures. 10. Muntz is a famous explorer who is an adventurer that Carl and Ellie admire. 11. Ellie who was a young tomboy discovered that she shared the same interest in adventures as their hero the famous explorer Charles F. Muntz. Do you want to know what happens to Carl and Ellie?
