Smack Talk Smack Down
This game requires:
 two six-sided dice
 game board
 wrestler pieces
 paper
 pencil
The basis of the game revolves round the intense showmanship and athleticism it takes to
win a professional fight. Each turn players will have their options to entertain the crown
or attack their opponents and vie for the title of world’s greatest fighter. The game can be
fought in either one vs. one, free for all battle royal or tag team match.
Getting Started
Before the game begins there are several things you must do to get ready for the fight.
You must name and assign values to each of the objects then place them in the arena. To
do this you come up with any name you want for the object then assign bonus points or
detractions, the absolute value between the two values cannot exceed eight. Each player
then rolls one die to determine what corners each player will start in and who will go
first.
One Turn
At the beginning of each turn you will roll one die to determine the number actions that
you have for that turn. There are three types of actions that you can take move, attack or
pump up the crowd.
Momentum – Being a wrestler means that you not only are a great fighter but
you have a knack for showmanship, which is the key to being a good fighter. All fighters
thrive off of the momentum that they have from the crowd so it is a vital part of the game.
During each turn players will have the opportunity to pump up the crowd in their favor
which has multiple effects, your momentum from the crowd is your lifeline and at any
point if it reaches zero then you loose, having high momentum is also key in attacking
your opponents. In order to gain momentum a player can allocate any number of moves
that they have for their turn and must stand up and perform some type of action to pump
up the “crowd” there is no limit to what a player can do so bring your best smack talking.
Moving—Players can move in any direction for one movement. Players need to
have a momentum over 10 to move out of the ring. If a player is holding more than one
object then moving one square requires two actions.
Attack—The point of any fight is to destroy your opponent and the Smack Talk
Smack Down is no different. At any point if you are adjacent to you opponent then you
can attack them, to do so you and you opponent will roll two dice then add you
momentum and any bonuses from object or elevation. Compare the two totals if the
defender has equal or greater than the attacker then no damage is done if the attacker has
more then the defender looses the difference between the two numbers (ex. If Pete is
attacking and has a total of 15 and Dan has a total of 12 then Dan looses three
momentum). Ranged attacks are possible if you have an object, you can throw an object
up to three squares, the difference is that the defender gets a +1 bonus and at the end of
the attack the object is placed on the ground next to the defender.
Winning
The only way to win is to get all of your opponents momentum down to zero, so it is key
that you keep you momentum high, grab some objects, come up with your best smack
talk and hop into the arena and you should have no problem winning the biggest fight of
your life.
