School Sports Premium Plan 2016/17 Up until the academic year 2019/2020, the Government is making available to all schools a sum of money annually to allow them to continue to develop sports provision within school and to help schools increase pupil participation in sporting activity. This money presently equates to £8000 per school per yer plus an additional £5 per child. For our school this means £9,810.00 for the 2016/17 Academic Year. Training of young ambassadors in Year 4 who are creating new games for year 3 to play. Participation in girls active day will lead to new afterschool club to be run by year 5+6 girls with aid of new equipment and coaching (paid for by grant). Specialist coaching providing expert wider (2hrs/week x fitness opportunities to the children 15 wks @ £25/hr) Zumba coaching To increase participation in Dance and fitness £950 (38 x £25 per 1hr session) Specialist coaching providing expert wider fitness opportunities to the children Tennis coaching Y5 – spring term 2017 To introduce children to sports they may not have tried. PE lessons will be improved by the availably of extra space. £3,150 PE lessons will become far more flexible with multiple and differentiated activities able to run concurrently. It has also removed the wall as a safety issue.
