Start times U20 Men: 10.20 U17 Men: 11.10 U20 Women: 11.13 U17 Women: 12.00 Registration Registration for all races is at the bottom of Spooney Green Lane, behind Fitz Park, Keswick GR267242. Car Parking On street and municipal car parking is available in Keswick. Parking at the bottom of Spooney Green Lane is limited and is likely to fill up quickly. Limited parking is available on the road from Underscar to the back of Latrigg (where all races other than the U20 men start) but the road was severely eroded by bad weather in the winter and has not been repaired so vehicular access is not straightforward. Competitors and spectators can walk to the start of the U17/20 women and U17 men’s races from registration via Spooney Green Lane – following the U20 men’s race route (2km, 30 mins uphill). Kit Requirements Full kit – ie waterproof jacket and trousers with taped seams, hat, gloves, whistle and emergency food - will be required irrespective of the weather conditions on the day. There will be a full kit check of all competitors. No kit = no run. Maps The full race route is on the following published maps: Harveys Ultramap Lake District North Harveys British Mountain Map Lake District Ordnance Survey OL4 Explorer English Lakes North-Western area Weather The weather could be adverse. Unless the weather is exceptionally bad the races will go ahead as planned so competitors come with adequate kit to wear during the races. The starts of the U17 & 20 women and U17 men’s races are approx. 30 mins walk from registration so competitors need to have waterproof clothing to wear during that walk. Kit can be left at the start of these races. Toilets Given the condition of the road to the back of Latrigg it may not be possible to transport portable toilets to the start of the U20 women, U17 men and U17 women’s races. Public Toilets are available in Keswick. If toilets are not available, runners must not use the area around the start as a toilet. 650 600 700 Skiddaw Sale How 666 2016 British and Irish Junior Mountain Running Championships and Home Country International (uphill only) Path scale 1:20000, contours 10m Junior Men Finish Cairn 865 Junior Women & Boys Girls Little Man Cairn Grey craggs 800 Jenkin Hill 750 700 650 60 55 0 0 450 500 400 350 Farmland Open fell Wood/scrub N Route 500m Scale 1:20000 contours 10m 715 700 Lonscale fell 0 65 600 550 300 Girls’ start 250 Junior women and boys’ start Latrigg Junior men’s start KESWICK Map data (c) OpenStreetMap and available under the Open Database Licence.
