Our local AHEPA Speedway Chapter # 410, once again, requests your genuine
consideration in support of the AHEPA New Smyrna Memorial, Inc. foundation, which is a
501(c)3 non-profit entity initiated to both honor and care for the New Smyrna Odyssey
Memorial located in New Smyrna Beach’s Riverfront Park. The New Smyrna Odyssey
Memorial was initially erected and dedicated as an AHEPA “National Project” in 2004, to
honor the first Greek, Italian and Minorcan settlers that came to North America in 1768.
The “New Smyrna Odyssey Memorial Monument” itself, is revered by the Greek heritage
as our culture’s version of the “Plymouth Rock” symbolizing our initial colonists’ search of
a better life and prosperity in America. Our name, “AHEPA”, is an acronym that stands for
the “American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association” whose mission foots upon
promoting 5 basic principles of our Greek culture. Those principles are as follows:
Hellenism, by way of creating cultural awareness within our own local Greek Community;

ORDER OF AHEPA
SPEEDWAY CHAPTER 410
Last year in late August, we were fortunate enough to put on our inaugural AHEPA Golf Tournament that was a great
success for our local AHEPA Chapter raising over $9,300 in net proceeds. We cannot thank everyone enough for their
past support and the commitment they demonstrated for the Daytona Beach area AHEPA family as it was terrific to say
the very least. The proceeds and donations alike received , thanks to the many great local sponsors that stepped up and
gave selflessly, were utilized specifically towards maintaining our treasured monuments as well as awarding annual
scholarships to our local deserving young applicants that are looking to make a difference within our local community.
As a point of information, our AHEPA chapter awarded over $8,500 in local scholarships this year which we are
extremely grateful for as it was only possible through the many donors that we can count on year after year.
So, whether it’s by way of your own personal time and financial support donated by attending this great annual event,
or simply by having you or your business becoming a recognized sponsor, we sincerely hope to once again achieve our
stated mission to maintain our commitment towards our AHEPA Chapter’s worthwhile causes. Please note that we have
attached with this letter our 2nd Annual AHEPA Golf Tournament Flyer to serve as a friendly reminder to save the date
as we would love to have you become a part of our local fun and success.
We thank you in advance for your genuine consideration and continued support of our local AHEPA Chapter family.
With kindest regards we remain,
Pete Klironomos
