We are studying sound in science. We have explored sounds. Get in a quiet place.
Outside is a good place for this. Write down sounds you hear around you. What do
you hear? What makes the sounds you hear? What feelings or thoughts do you have
about those sounds? Write a free verse poem about sound. Free verse poems
have no rules, no structure, no particular rhyme or rhythm. They are whimsical and
free! Have FUN with this! Here is an example of free verse poetry:

The fog comes
on little cat feet.
It sits looking
over harbor and city
on silent haunches
and then moves on.
