Frequently asked questions about volunteering
How much time do I need to give?
Different roles need different amounts of time. Some only require a few
hours a school term, others need more. Whatever your lifestyle, you
should be able to find something that suits you.
What skills will I need?
Everybody’s skills & talents are useful, there is no such thing as a
‘typical’ volunteer. We will provide an in-house induction process and
further training will be provided where appropriate to enable you to take
on the role whatever your existing skills.
How long will I have to commit for?
As a volunteer you can leave whenever you like. However, it would be
helpful if you could give us as much notice as possible.
Can I claim benefits while volunteering?
Yes, the benefits regulations are clear that you can volunteer. Please
contact us if you would like more information about volunteering whilst
claiming benefits.
