The purpose of this document is to share information on Bristol Learning City and education-related groups on which Headteacher’s are represented in the city.
Headteacher representation across these groups is key to achieving the Bristol Learning City vision of collective responsibility for education in Bristol. Group members are informed of meeting
dates by individual group contacts.

Purpose
Bristol Learning City is overseen by a group of city leaders

learning – who belong to the ‘Partnership Board’.

The Schools Forum considers proposals drawn up by
Bristol City Council to allocate the Dedicated Schools
Grant (DSG) from the Department for Education and is
earmarked for education funding in Bristol.

The Schools Forum is interested in how the budget for
education is spent, to ensure that it understands the
“wider” picture.
The Forum will be seeking to understand the financial
implications of various initiatives, such as the inclusion
programme of placing special schools alongside
secondary schools and the creation of further academy
schools.
