Reflection #1: Describe your household: who lives in your house? If you have a stepparent,
when did she or he become part of your family? What is your birth order? Do you feel
certain expectations are placed oh you because of your birth order or gender?
Reflection #2: What are some responsibilities you have in your family? What chores are you
expected to do? What’s your attitude about them? What happens if you don’t do them? Do
you “step-up” to the challenge of your responsibilities? Do you show a willingness to take
on greater challenges? Give some specific examples.
Reflection #3: If you have younger siblings, what kind of behavior do you model for them?
If you have older siblings, what kind of role models have they been for you? If you are an
only child, describe what it’s like: do you wish you had siblings, or do you think you’re better
off without them? Explain.
Reflection #4: How do you handle disappointment or conflict within your family? In
conflict situations, how do you behave? Are you a “peacekeeper,” a “hot head,” or an
ignorer?” Whose responsibility is it to maintain good communication within a family - the
parents - the children? What do you think?
Reflection #5: Are members of your family supportive of one another? Do you try to make
life easier for each other? Does your family love through actions, words or both? Do you
feel comfortable expressing your feelings to members of your family? Give specific
examples.
Reflection #6: Do you look forward to “family time” or do you look for excuses to avoid it?
Explain your answer.
Reflection #7: What is an activity your family traditionally has enjoyed doing together?
When was the last time you did this? Explain your answer.
Reflection #8: Which family member(s) do you feel closest to or get along with the best?
Why? Which family relationship(s) do you feel could be improved? What difficulties do you
seem to be having with that person(s)?

3. You must reflect on all the following questions but it should not sound like you
are answering questions as you would in an assignment from the questions in your
Religion book.
How has this project helped you see your role in your family in a new way or strengthened
the way you have always viewed your role in your family? Have any of your family members
shared anything with you about their experience of you while you did this project? Ask
someone (at least one person) to share with you anything they noticed about you while you
performed this service. Talk about it in this reflection. If you did something at home, has
what you did become a regular activity for you? Explain. If you did something outside your
home with family members, has this become a regular activity for you and your family or
something you think the family may do again? Explain. How has this project helped you to
see the world as an extension of your family? How has this project affected your religious
faith? Has it stayed the same or strengthened it?
