Volunteering for a committee is a great way to network, have fun, feel fulfilled and further understand the workings of
our Chamber. Please read over the list below and bring your skills and ideas to one or many of our committees!
The JSCC works when our members work with us!
Following is the JSCC Committee list for 2014. If you would like to volunteer or if you have any questions or concerns, you
may contact the JSCC office or you may contact the committee Chair or Co-Chair.
If there is not a Chair or Co-Chairperson listed, you may also volunteer for one of those positions.

Committee members are member volunteers dedicated to increasing and promoting the benefits of Chamber
membership. They accomplish this by cultivating and greeting new members and by assisting with introductions and networking
at social functions. They will also develop and implement membership retention programs.

More than 50% of all businesses are managed or owned by women. This committee addresses their needs and provides
key networking and educational opportunities.

Plans and coordinates JSCC’s annual business trade show to showcase member’s goods and services and increase public
awareness of the Chamber and its members.
General Membership Meetings: Chair – Evelyn Mars – 732-280-8800 – [email protected]
This committee is responsible for planning the monthly breakfast or lunch meetings. This includes choosing a location,
menu and guest speakers to attract members. Members will network with other members and establish business contacts.

Plans the Chamber’s evening card exchanges, locations and agendas.
This is a great networking opportunity in a relaxed atmosphere for members.

Plans and coordinates the Chamber’s popular speed networking events which allow our members to showcase their
business one-on-one with as many members as time allows in one night.

Plans and organizes the Chamber’s Annual Golf Outing, a very popular event every year. Whether you golf or not, your
help is needed at organizing this event. There is something for everyone, including recruiting sponsors, planning lunch and
awards dinner, prizes and raffles.

Create topic for essay entries for local Monmouth County high school students to earn money for continuing their
education. The committee will judge all entries, plan, organize and execute the recognition event and make presentations to all
winners.

Plans and organizes the Chamber’s special evening to honor an outstanding business, outstanding community service and
outstanding chamber service individual. There is plenty to do for all: choosing the honorees, location, dinner and entertainment,
to invitations and program booklet.

Plans and organizes the Chamber’s annual Holiday Gala and also plans the annual teddy bear distribution at the Jersey Shore
University Medical Center in Neptune.

Plans and organizes the Chamber’s annual Wine & Chocolate event.

The Committee develops and maintains relationships with elected officials at the local, state and federal level while
working in cooperation with the New Jersey and U.S. Chamber of Commerce. The environmental entity will keep the JSCC
members and the local communities updated on environmental issues that impact their daily costs of living and their quality of
life. The committee members meet to discuss legislative needs and proposals of concern to the region and the membership.

Plan, coordinate and execute the Chamber’s Marketing and Public Relations Strategies/Initiatives. This includes our
Newsletter (Jersey Shore Biz News), Press Releases, Advertising, Promotions, Member-to-Member Discounts, etc.
