Timothy Moor Superior Performance Timothy Moor was born July 13, 1970 in Havre de Grace, MD to Linda and the late John Moor. He grew up in Aberdeen, graduating from Aberdeen High School in 1988. Tim’s daughter, Kelsey Jordan Cochran was born in 1994. In September 2000, Tim married his wife Kim, herself a league bowler since 1980. In 2003, their son, Bret Ryan Moor was born. Today they live in Aberdeen. Tim has worked at Harford Lanes since 1986. Tim’s interest in bowling began at age 15 when his avid interest in all sports led him to watch the Pro Bowler’s Tour on television. Tim always excelled at various sports such as baseball and basketball so he decided to give bowling a shot. In the summer of 1985, he began practicing at Harford Lanes. That fall, he joined the junior leagues at the encouragement of one of his good friends. Tim was a natural on the lanes from the beginning. His first season of junior leagues, he averaged 172. Two seasons later, he averaged 207 in the winter league after posting a 212 for 24 games in the summer league. That season, he also bowled several 700 sets with a high of 771. Tim qualified for the state finals of the Maryland Youth Invitational (Top Ten Tournament) twice. He finished third at Turner’s Dual Lanes in Hagerstown and in 1987; he took first place scratch in the Maryland Tenpin Council Scholarship Tournament. In the 1988-89 season, Tim became an ABC member, bowling regularly in a league at Forest Hill Lanes and two at Harford Lanes, including the Bill Snavely Scratch League. That first year, his teammates in the Snavely League were Lenny Ciufo, Dennis Wilson, Alex Abraham and fellow State Hall of Famer, Richard McFadden, Sr. He bowled two 300 games at Forest Hill and one 300 game in Aberdeen and finished the season with a high average of 215. On January 19, 2001 Tim was a member of Ray’s Boom Boom Room (with Bryan Lindecamp, Rob Hunter, John Vananzo and Kevin Walker) that bowl a 1399 scratch team game. They set the state record for the highest 5 man team game and the fifth highest game bowled in USBC history. They set the USBC record for consecutive strikes in one game when they started the game with the first 42 strikes. The 1399 game and 3777 series is the currently the Cecil Harford USBC Bowing Association record. Therefore, for his overall performance in the sport of tenpin bowling, the Maryland State USBC Association welcomes Timothy Moor into its Hall of Fame in the Superior Performance category.
