Where is Summer School located? All classes for students will be taught at New Horizon Center located at 955 W. Alameda Rd, Pocatello, Idaho. Where and when do students register? Pre-registration will take place from now until May 23, 2016 with your child’s school counselor. Students who do not register by May 23, 2016 may register at New Horizon Center June 1, 2016 from 8:00 - 12:00 p.m. Registration for Block 2 will be any time BEFORE June 29, 2016. What Curriculum is offered? All courses will be classroom-based instruction with a face to face teacher, or computer-based credit recovery courses on PLATO or Think Through Math. All curriculum is aligned to the Idaho Core Standards. What is the cost? Cost is $ 83.00 per course. Fees will be collected at registration on June 1 or on the first day of summer school. There will be no refunds after June 5, 2016 for Block 1 and July 1, 2016 for Block 2. Please make checks payable to School District #25. A grant is also available to pay for Summer School fees. Ask your school counselor if your student qualifies. How important is attendance during Summer School? Attendance is very important. Students will lose credit after the third (3rd) absence and Withdraw/Fail will be transcribed. Classes are Monday through Friday. Students must have their own transportation to and from school. What if my student needs additional support? All students sign a behavior contract as a part of enrolling in Summer School. Special Education staff is available to assist students on an IEP or 504.
